Braithwaite, in conversation with journalist Tove Gravdal (Morgenbladet). Kenneth J. Braithwaite is an American naval officer and diplomat, and has been the U.S. Ambassador to Norway since February 2018. He is a retired Rear Admiral with more than 27 years of experience from the United States Navy and the US Navy Reserve. Ambassador Braithwaite is a graduate from the United States Naval Academy and University of Pennsylvania. He served on President Donald Trump´s Defense Department transition team after the 2016 election, and on October 19th 2017 the President nominated him to become the new ambassador to Norway.

02/11/2018 Duración: 30minChernobyl - NEVER AGAIN. Er navnet på fotoboken til Knut Henrik Andersen, som ble lansert på Nobels Fredssenter. I forbindelse med lanseringen holdt han en artist-talk som her er tilgjengelig som podcast. Siden katastrofen i Tsjernobyl rammet så hardt den dagen i april 1986 har Knut Henrik vært nysgjerrig på hva som skjedde med menneskene. Som fotograf har han vært inne i den strengt regulerte sonen rundt Tsjernobyl atomkraftverk i perioder over to år. Hensikten med reisene var å forstå katastrofens fysiske og menneskelige omfang ved å fotografere i Tsjernobyl og den forlatte byen Pripiat. Prosjektets ide er knyttet til katastrofen sett fra et perspektiv 30 år etter at menneskene, på et øyeblikkelig ble frarøvet sine hjem og sin tilhørighet. Hvilke konsekvenser ulykken fikk for et helt samfunn, både voksne og barn. Hvordan ser ut i den tidligere sovjet mønsterbyen Pripiat. En utopi som brast. Human activism in North Korea and Iran: meet Yeonmi Park and Marina Nemat.

In a conversation led by Journalist Hilde Sandvik, these two remarkable women will discuss human rights and female activism. The event is a cooperation between Oslo Freedom Forum and the Nobel Peace Center. Bio: Yeonmi Park grew up as part of the elite in North Korea until the regime punished her father for selling items to China. The family was banished to the north, where poverty, starvation, and “disappearences” became part of everyday life. After she escaped in 2007, Yeonmi Park is now living in Seoul, where she study criminal justice. Bio: Marina Nemat from Iran was imprisoned at the age of 16 for criticizing Ayatollah Khomeini’s regime. In the infamous Evin Prison, she was interrogated, tortured and raped by a prison guard who she was forced to marry. When the guard was killed, she was released and fled to Canada.
