In this Episode, Pastor Derek Holmes opens a new 4 part series through the book of Jonah. In the 1700s, a slave trader named John Newton met Jesus and his life was forever changed by Grace. Like the Paul of his generation, Newton went from being a menace to humanity to a preacher of the Gospel. Newton's most known accomplishment is penning the song, "Amazing Grace," which was his personal testimony of the life changing power of God's grace. In this message, we look at what makes the Grace of God so amazing still today.

David is called a man after God's own heart. But, David was still a man. And, as a man, David sinned. Like a sheep, he wandered in rebellion often in his life. What made David special was his repentant heart in response to his sin. Psalm 51 gives us a view into the true heart of repentance that recognizes sin, falls on forgiveness, craves cleansing and ultimately results in restoration. Part 2 of an earlier message.

Just as sheep are prone to wander, we are prone to wander from the care of the Great Shepherd. When we do, we must repent in order to be restored. When David sinned with Bathsheba, the Prophet Nathan confronted David over his sin.
