On the show we will talk about the Sport of Kings. We will delve into the different features of the WinningPonies.com website. John Engelhardt will talk about the issues of the day that affect horse racing, such as synthetic surfaces, medication rule changes, the fate of the industry as a whole, VLTs and Casinos, and human interest stories of triumph and defeat. You will also hear our spot play of the week, where John will handicap the feature races for the upcoming weekend, and will give out his best plays. We will keep you abreast racings big events. Featured on the show will be guests (trainers, jockeys, jockeys agents, owners, and celebrity handicappers). Promotional giveaways will be featured, such as brand merchandise and free WinningCredits.Winning Ponies is broadcast live every Thursday at 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel.

It's March Madness and it's all about the points - Derby and Oaks points Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky will host two points races in the Spiral and Bourbonette Stakes. Last year Shared Belief was his best shot at winning his first Derby but the colt never made it to the Race. In the second segment Mary Rampellini will be our handicapper with all that good action at Oaklawn Park , including the only Derby points race the $600,000 Grade II Rebel Stakes.

    Pellom McDaniels - former NFL player who wrote a new book on legendary jockey Isaac Murphy and is doing a signing this week at the Kentucky Derby Museum. McDaniel's recently authored The Prince of Jockeys: The Life of Isaac Burns Murphy. He was one of the most dynamic jockeys of his era. Still considered one of the finest riders of all time. Murphy was the first jockey to win the Kentucky Derby three times, and his 44% win record remains unmatched. McDaniels will reflect on the book and the life of one of the greatest jockeys to ever ride a horse. Our handicapper is nationally-known Matt Bernier from the DRF. In a new format, he and Dan Illman are hosting a new live show during the races on Saturday afternoons.
