On the show we will talk about the Sport of Kings. We will delve into the different features of the WinningPonies.com website. John Engelhardt will talk about the issues of the day that affect horse racing, such as synthetic surfaces, medication rule changes, the fate of the industry as a whole, VLTs and Casinos, and human interest stories of triumph and defeat. You will also hear our spot play of the week, where John will handicap the feature races for the upcoming weekend, and will give out his best plays. We will keep you abreast racings big events. Featured on the show will be guests (trainers, jockeys, jockeys agents, owners, and celebrity handicappers). Promotional giveaways will be featured, such as brand merchandise and free WinningCredits.Winning Ponies is broadcast live every Thursday at 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel.

Winning Ponies Presents Jockey Author Janice Blake and Writer Chart Caller John McDulin

Tragedy struck the racing world when Caixa Eletronica, winner of the 2012 Fall Highweight at Aqueduct, a popular four-time graded stakes winner, died as the result of injuries he suffered in a training accident at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday at Belmont Park. The 9-year-old was galloping on the training track when he collided with another horse, Six Drivers, who was running loose after having unseated his rider behind the starting gate. Our first guest is Janice Blake a jockey, exercise rider and now the author of How To Exercise A Thoroughbred Race Horse. Janice also produced a series of educational videos that take the viewer through the experience and complete duties of an exercise rider. Beulah Park, in operation since 1923 will be closing its doors after this season. Oaklawn Park will be opening its gates for a new season of racing on Friday. Our second guest will be Kentucky Derby winning trainer Doug O'Neil who campaigned the world's greatest claimer - Lava Man, who went on to win the Hollywood Gold Cup three times.
