Welcome to Tuesday… Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas Eve from Joe Mathieu and the WGBH Early Edition team. Yesterday proved to be challenging if you were out trying to shop or get anywhere in the mad rush of traffic. Perfect time to announce that Boston is among the rudest cities in the country, yet we somehow lost out on the top title to Washington DC. The NORAD Santa tracker is officially up and running here on Christmas Eve. And the newest Celtics phenom, a large man named Tacko, brought the house down at Symphony Hall last night. Stay safe out there and enjoy the spirit of the season everyone!

Welcome back to the world after your weekend from Joe Mathieu and WGBH’s Early Edition team. It’s a holiday week so most of you have at least part of it off… time for friends, family, food, and festive celebrations. But in the meantime we’re all trying to cram our last minute preparations and shopping in. Boston wanted Tacko this past weekend, but not in the way you might think. Governor Baker will light the State House menorah later today. Traffic could be bad today so stay safe out there, and Happy Holidays from WGBH.

Thursday is here and you better bundle up with a heavy coat and WGBH’s Early Edition. Historic day in DC yesterday and the juxtaposition of what the President was doing while Congress voted to impeach him could not be more different. We recap some of it and look ahead to what might happen in the not to distant future. Celtics won on the road last night and a guy named Joe Mathieu is really excited for The Last Skywalker, but should he be concerned by the critical response so far? Yesterday’s storm got the attention but this morning and this afternoon have the potential to be more hazardous on the roads, be sure to leave yourself extra commuting time. Today is a day your grandchildren read about, as the House will officially vote on impeachment. And the Bruins and their head coach continue to find positives in losses. The big reenactment party for the 246th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party was a success last night. And we’ll update you on the Impeachment inquiry with Congressman Jim McGovern later this morning. In that spirit, a lot of lucky local kids will get their chance to ‘shop with a cop’, which is quickly becoming a City of Boston tradition. If you grabbed your speedo this weekend to be among your fellow scantily-clad Santas, it likely cost you a good amount of cash to put it to use. The Celtics’ Gordon Hayward just can’t catch a break, poor guy has a hex on him since coming to Boston. Bruins also take an “L” and suddenly our Boston teams are slumping. Vape stores are back in business in Massachusetts but the landscape for stores has changed dramatically. And it’s radio’s birthday and we’re gonna celebrate. Have a great Thursday!

Welcome back from the weekend from Joe Mathieu and WGBH’s Early Edition team. It’s a bit hard to get going this morning after the first loss down in Foxboro in years. Is father time finally catching up with the Patriots? It sure looks that way this season. Dixville Notch up in NH is facing a population crisis when it comes to the primary. And where is Keytar Bear? We need him in studio ASAP. Shake it off people, it’s Monday and we’re just getting started.

Friday is right on time for Joe Mathieu and the WGBH Early Edition team. Karen returns from a brief hiatus as Boston’s tree is officially lit and the holiday season is in now in overdrive. Tough game loss and a tough fight loss for the Bruins last night. Dolly Parton is indeed in the hub and our crew would like to head out and see her Christmas show. Wednesday has arrived and it’s frosty out there… stay warm with Joe Mathieu and WGBH’s Early Edition team. Sledding is officially in season. We learn all about the adventures of being a “shovel boy” as opposed to a “plow guy”. A big milestone for one Bruins player, and today is ballot question signatures day including an all important beer and wine at food stores question. Hang in there, it’s all down hill from here!

Welcome to Wednesday, or “Little Thanksgiving” as we’re now calling it. Karen is on edge because our studio has a little visitor this morning, and no, it’s not quite as cute as Baby Yoda. We begin with some sound from a friend of the program up in Newburyport, indicating winter is indeed on the way. A big night north of the border for a guy they call Pasta. And speaking of Thanksgiving, there’s apparently a “war” on it according to the President and his favorite news network… but we can’t seem to find evidence of it. Good Monday Morning from Joe Mathieu and the WGBH Early Edition team. Crazy weather yesterday, a good day to stay in bed or spend it couch-locked. Crazy football fans braved the weather in Foxboro, and that weather made for some sloppy football. But sloppy play or not, we’ll always take the win. Gronk looks good on TV, but he’s getting some very mixed reviews for what comes out of his mouth. We’re getting you ready for a big holiday week with family and friends, enjoy it everyone!
