Halfway home, welcome to Wednesday. Joe Mathieu and the crew get your day started with everything you need to start your day. Two men they call Yaz came to Fenway for a family reunion. Hub Hall is coming to the Causeway… is your favorite restaurant going to be there? There’s a new TB12 clinic in the Back Bay, but Joe isn’t quite sure what goes down in that place. And indictments don’t mean much in the city of Fall River, as embattled mayor Jasiel Correia lives to fight another day.

The Patriots won in a rout in hot and sunny Miami, but “angry dad” still isn’t happy about it. And Boston lost a legend last night with the passing of Cars front man Rick Ocassic. You’re almost to the weekend. Big Friday show as it’s the one year anniversary of the natural gas disaster in the Merrimack Valley. Peter Kadzis gives us his analysis of the latest debate by the Democrats. Another big festival in the North End this weekend, and the Red Sox managed to win a game but no one cares anymore. Later today we’ll headed to the Charles River to meet one of our listeners and get a brief lesson in rowing. Happy Friday everyone!

Joe Mathieu, Karen and Brendan greet you this morning with the latest news and doings in Boston. The saga of Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia continues on. The Patriots are facing some serious PR problems as potentially disturbing news surfaces about their newest addition Antonio Brown. And famous Boston tavern Doyle’s in Jamaica Plain is closing it’s doors, and we’d like to take the show on the road just once before they do.

Wake up with Joe Mathieu and WGBH’s Early Edition team. No one here is going to qualify for the Boston Marathon anytime soon. Big Papi returned to Fenway Park in his first public appearance since the attempt on his life in June… but it didn’t help the Red Sox. Plus celebrity chefs try and lend a hand in the Bahamas, and we’re going on a boat this Friday, unbeknownst to Brendan.

The remains of Hurricane Dorian will hit the Cape this weekend with rain and high winds, with rain Saturday for most of Massachusetts. We have your weekend calendar for Boston, but be aware that the MBTA will shut down key sections this weekend to speed up repairs. And the Patriots and the NFL return on Sunday night.

Today is the day that ALL children have returned to school, as Boston welcomes back its students. A total meltdown in the House of Commons in London as Boris Johnson is not having a good couple of days. Mookie goes off for the Sox… but no one really cares. Most of the region is back or headed back to school today, and Joe Mathieu and the Early Edition team want to wish all the returning students well, including a song parody from a school that may make you cringe like it did for Brendon and Karen. Plus money saving school lunch tips, and for the fading Red Sox, there’s at least a shred of a chance that they can make the playoffs.
