Sinopsis

“[Self-deprecation] is a way of reminding you of your own humanity and insignificance in the grand scheme of the universe. And that can be very grounding and freeing… but it can really easily slip into a dark depressive self-hate.”Loah is a self-trained soul musician based in Dublin, but raised between Maynooth and West Africa. Last month she released her debut EP This Heart, a collection of compositions with her bilingual lyrics at the forefront of the release. Here she chats to our editor Eric Davidson about Irish people's inherent self-deprecation, the current Irish creative landscape, gigging at South by Southwest, and more.Intro music is 'Leanin' On The Curb' by Chease, from his District Mixtape, available herehttps://districtmagazine.bandcamp.com/album/district-mixtape-series-chease Hosted on Acast.
