Dr. Joel R. Politi is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and reconstruction. At the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2017 Dr. Politi reached in and purchased from Brookdale Sales consignment a Kentucky bred filly by Tri Eques Bloodstock out of the Bernardini mare Havisham for $70,000, Serengeti Empress now has three wins from four starts and $187,870 in earnings. She is trained by Tom Amos with Corey Lanerie as her regular rider. She is next pointing to the (Grade 1) Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Dr. Politi will talk about his experience with owning thoroughbreds and specially owing this very talented filly Serengeti Empress who won her last by 19 lengths..
