Ramon, 35, began riding full time at La Rinconada racetrack in his native country Venezuela at age 18. He came to the United States in 1995 and rode his first winner in March of 1996 at Hialeah Park. He is currently the regular rider on such outstanding horses as Horse of the Year Havre de Grace who is pointing for her 2012 debut in the March 17 New Orleans Ladies Stakes at the Louisiana racetrack, and last year's Juvenile Champion Hansen. He will tell us how it feels to be riding those 2 outstanding champions, and his expectations in riding potentially one of the favorites in this year's Kentucky Derby. In the second segment Les Instone has been involved in the Thoroughbred industry since 1984 as a handicapper and horse owner will join our host in handicapping this week-end's 3-year-old prep races for the Derby from around the country. Currently, Les is VIP Customer Service Manager with Twinspires.com online wagering service, a division of Churchill Downs based in Lexington.
