Characterized by a bass-baritone timbre, serious and hoarse, he won three Grammy awards and several recognitions for his manly, romantic and sensual style. During his career he edited 26 albums and reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 charts in his country, with the songs that made him world famous: Love's Theme (played by his Love Unlimited Orchestra), Can not Get Enough of Your Love, Babe and You're the First, the Last, My Everything, the last two from the Can not Get Enough album of 1974.
