This bacterium causes a severe and sometimes fatal systemic infection in the very young, older frail individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.  Listeria can also trigger miscarriages and stillbirths.   These sandwiches were sold in grocery and convenience stores: South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wyoming.
