Sinopsis
Vidcast: https://www.instagram.com/p/DChqofdMImw/ More than 1 in 4 new mothers fall asleep while breastfeeding their newborns. Doing so increases the risk of SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, nearly 67 times. University of Virginia Family Medicine researchers report these worrisome findings in the journal Pediatrics after studying 1259 mothers. New mothers breastfeeding in bed were twice as likely to fall asleep as those feeding baby in a chair. Breastfeeding is highly recommended as it benefits both baby and mother in so many ways. For baby, it improves nutrition, immunity, and general development. For mom it helps with post-delivery weight loss, reduces depression, lowers breast and ovarian cancer risks, and saves money. Do breastfeed but do so safely and AWAKE. https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article-abstract/doi/10.1542/peds.2024-066072/199817/Mothers-Falling-Asleep-During-Infant-Feeding?redirectedFrom=fulltext?autologincheck=redirected #breastfeeding #dozing #SIDS #chair #bed
