João Carlos Jarochinski Silva is Professor at Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR) in a joint appointment at the Faculty of International Relations and the Sociedade e Fronteiras (Society and Borders) Postgraduate Programme. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Núcleo de Estudos de População Elza Berquó (NEPO/Unicamp), and holds a PhD in Social Sciences (International Relations) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP), and a Masters in International Law from Universidade Católica de Santos (UniSantos). He was a visiting researcher at The Center for Latin American & Latino Studies (CLALS) of American University in Washington, D.C.
