It's claimed Clare's electrical infrastructure is in need of a major overhaul. New ESB figures show there were 1,717 power cuts in this county last year, up 9% on the amount recorded in 2023. However it's still well below the national average jump of 22% in power outages last year. Ireland South Fianna Fáil MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurcú believes the situation can be attributed to a lack of investment.
