Today is World Drowning Prevention Day. Given the day that is in it, the Irish Coast Guard, RNLI and Water Safety Ireland have come together to reflect on the lives lost to drowning and to issue a vital safety message. So far in 2025, 42 people have drowned in Irish waters—ten more than this time last year.
