I grew up fast and hard. I was exposed to sex, drugs, and violence at an early age, all of which became the norm for me. Like most writers reading was my oasis. Although I officially dropped out of school at the age of 16, I actually quit going in the tenth grade at the of age 15. It was reading that enabled me to expand my vocabulary as well as enabling me to put my thoughts and words onto paper. I penned my first novel some 19 years later at the suggestion of a police officer from a local precinct.
