Marisol Rubio is a scientific researcher, health care provider and advocate for high-need students. She has a degree in neurobiology from UC Berkeley.A second-generation American, Marisol was raised by a single mother who was provided the opportunity to become a public school teacher and taught Marisol to always fight for a better future for her entire community. Marisol experienced the unimaginable when her infant daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. If not for Marisol’s tireless advocacy on her daughter’s behalf against an unresponsive and dismissive health care system, her daughter would likely not have survived. Through that experience, Marisol saw firsthand the problems in our health care system and the importance of providing quality, affordable health care for all.
