When the sin of Adam caused God’s creation to be riddled by sin, the future of humanity was in grave danger. Yet, even in the midst of humanity’s downfall, God spoke words of hope declaring that, one day, the “HE” would come to deal decisively with the effects of sin. God determined sin would not have the last word, and so the search for the “HE” began. Throughout the Old Testament, many good men were introduced, but in each case, their lives fell short. Their sinful lives demonstrated they were not the Savior, for they were in desperate need of a Savior. But that all changed when Jesus came on the scene. He was – and IS! – the Man we needed, and this weekend we take time to remember the first part of God’s solution to the problem of sin: the life of Jesus Christ!
