Yet, it was through the gracious discipline of God on the prophet that he came to realize the sovereign grace of the Lord. While in the belly of the great fish, Jonah had time to reflect, and he came to the conclusion that God was in charge, not him. God alone holds the power of life and death, of salvation and judgment.
