Read Matthew 1:18-25 Prayer for the Day: O God, when you needed someone to step forward with love, grace, and kindness, you gave Joseph the gift of compassion.  With compassion, Joseph accepted and cared for Mary.  With compassion, Joseph raised Jesus, cared for him, showed him how to be a carpenter, took him to the synagogue, taught him his bible, and modeled for him your ways.  On this second day of Christmas, we step forward to be models of your love, grace, and kindness.  Thank you for gifting us with the compassion to lead a movement of Jesus followers.
