In Daniel, chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar erects a statue and commands everyone to bow down and worship the golden image. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego stand firm in their convictions and refuse to bow down and are thrown into the furnace of blazing fire trusting God will deliver them. The sovereignty of God once again is revealed to king Nebuchadnezzar and all peoples in his kingdom.
