Mandara Spa was born out of the Asian Financial Crisis of the mid-1990's. The founder's pivoted from a Spa Village concept when the economic crisis enveloped Indonesia, Asia and many other parts of the world. But in that ruin, they found a tiny glimmer of an opportunity to remove furniture from empty hotel rooms, put in some massage tables and sell massage treatments.
