On Monday the White Sox saw a 10-4 victory over Seattle yesterday. A five run inning set the stage. Jose Abreu went four for five with three RBIs including a two run homer in the sixth. Yoan Moncada also homered for the Sox.   The Cubs are coming off of a 9-7 win over the Rockies on Sunday. Today they begin a three game set against the Indians on the road. Lefty Tyler Chatwood gets the start on the mound looking for his first win of the season.

Adam Wainwright out piched Tyler Chatwood on a chilly night at Wrigley Field last night helping the Cardinals win their fifth straight with a 5-3 final over the Cubs. The game time temperature was 35 degrees with heaters in each dugout. Lefty Jon Lester is scheduled to get the start today against St. Louis’ right handed Luke Weaver but there is a ninety percent chance of precipitation in the area.   Jed Lowrie had a go ahead home run in a five run first inning. Trevor Cahill pitched 7 scoreless innings in his season debut helping the A’s beat the White Sox 10-2.

Chicago holds on to beat St. Louis 4-3. The Blues are now forced to win their last two games if they want to go to the playoffs.   The Cubs had Wednesday off. They’ll start a series in Milwaukee today.   The White Sox beat Toronto 4-3 Matt Davidson hit his fourth homer of the season. Jose Abreu had the tie breaking solo homer that put Chicago over the Blue Jays. The White Sox have their home opener against the Tigers today.

Tommy La Stella’s two run double helped Chicago beat the Marlins 8-4 on opening day. Ian Happ, Anthony Rizzo, Kyle Schwarber all had home runs.   The White Sox doubled up the Royals 14-7. Matt Davidson became the fourth player in MLB history to have three homeruns on opening day. Tim Anderson also homered twice.

Opening day in Major League Baseball is today. The Chicago Cubs play the Marlins today in Florida. The White Sox take on the Royals in Kansas City today.   The Winnipeg Jets are visiting the Blackhawks tonight at the United Center.   The 24-50 Bulls visit the 40-35 Heat tonight down in Miami.   The Loyola Ramblers are preparing for the Final Four game this Saturday against Michigan.      

Loyola Chicago basketball player Clayton Custer spoke to reporters before their trip to the final four this weekend. He was a KU fan in Kansas and can’t imagine playing that team in the final game. Before that happens the Ramblers face Michigan this Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The Bulls are coming off a pounding by the pistons with a score 117-95 this past Saturday. Tonight Chicago will visit the Rockets. Houston has a league best of sixty victories this season. The Bulls are 24-49 this season and have lost five in a row. Chicago will be without a handful of regulars tonight. Zach LaVine remains sidelined from a knee injury, Kris Dunn is out with a toe injury, and Antonio Blakeney is out with a wrist injury. Rookie Forward Lauri Markkanen has been dealing with back issues and Denzel Valentine has knee issues, both are game time decisions.   Kevin Lebanc scored the deciding goal in the fourth round of the shoot out against the Blackhawks last night beating Chicago 4-3. Rookie forward Alex Debrincat scored his twenty sixth goal of the season ad chipped in with an assist. Conor Murphy scored his second for the last place Blackhawks they’ve lost six of the last seven games.

The Blackhawks lose again, Bo Horvat scored his twentieth goal of the season as well as added an assist for the Canucks beating Chicago 5-2. Alexander Elder scored twice, Jacob Markstrom had 39 saves in net for Vancouver. Matthew Highmore and Nick Schmaltz scored the goals for Chicago. It was a tough night for J F Berube, he was in net for Chicago, he had fourteen saves in eighteen shots. The Blackhawks visit the Islanders tomorrow.   The Bulls say that Antonio Blakeney will miss the remainder of the season. He’s suffering from a broken bone in his left wrist, this happened during the loss to the Knicks on Monday.   The Bears have resigned linebacker John Timo to a one year deal. He has nine starts and fifty three tackles in three seasons with the team.   Loyola Chicago continued their cinderella run through the NCAA tournament when they beat tenth seed Nevada 69-68. Chicago has an opportunity to go to the Final Four, they face K State tomorrow in Atlanta.

Spring Training baseball yesterday; the Cubs beat the Texas Rangers 5-1. Chicago only gave up three hits during the game. Padres beat the White Sox 4-3.   The Blackhawks are playing host to the Vancouver Canucks tonight at the United Center.   The Bulls were taken down by the Nuggets yesterday with a score of 135-102. Chicago now 24 and 47 on the season. 16 points and 4 rebounds for Cristiano Felicio, 15 points and 8 boards for Bobby Portis and 14 points for Noah Vonleh. Chicago plays host to the Bucks on Friday.

The Chicago Bears have officially agreed to deals with linebacker Sam Acho and cornerback Prince Amukamara. Quarterback Mike Glennon, receiver Markus Wheaton, and defensive back Marcus Cooper all released on Wednesday. Meanwhile quarterback Chase Daniel let everyone know that he has joined the roster.   Kyle Schwarber has a new contract with the Chicago Cubs. It’s a 604,000 dollar one year deal.   The Blackhawks are back at it tomorrow. They’re playing a back to back homeset before embarking on a road trip. They are visiting the Winnipeg Jets tonight then on Saturday they face the Sabres.

The Bulls are hosting the Clippers tonight then they’ll head to Memphis on Thursday. The Bulls are coming off a 129-122 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Clippers are battling for a position in the playoffs in the Western Conference and have won two games in a row.   The Blackhawks are off until Friday when they start a three game in four night stretch. They’re at home Friday hosting the Jets then on Sunday they’ll visit the Sabres.   The Cubs get back to spring training action today against the San Diego Padres.

Zach LaVine nailed four free throws in the final seventeen seconds of the game helping Chicago to beat the Atlanta Hawks 129-122 last night. LaVine and Bobby Portis each had 21 points. Chicago overcame a career high, 38 point performance by Taurean Prince. The Bulls play host to the Clippers tomorrow and they will visit Memphis on Thursday.   Patrick Kane scored a tie breaking power play goal with 3:16 left and he also has an assist. This sent the Blackhawks over the Bruins Sunday night 3-1. Artem Anisimov also scored a power play against Boston.   Jake Arrieta has signed a three year deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. The package agreed upon is worth seventy five million dollars.

Lauri Markkanen had 22 points while Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn added 21 each when the Bulls beat the Grizzlies last night 119-110. It was the fifteenth consecutive loss for Memphis. The Bulls had a 21 point lead whittled down to 1 but came away with the win. Justin Holiday added 14 points. He was five for five from the field, he nailed four three pointers. This is after the NBA prodded the Bulls to play Holiday and Robin Lopez again. NBA owners passed a rule back in September to prevent teams from sitting healthy star players to lose on purpose to increase draft potential.   The Blackhawks are playing host to Carolina tonight. J F Berube is going to get the start in net. Corey Crawford is out with a head injury.   Kyle Schwarber was two for three. He had a homer and scored three runs when the cubs hammered the Indians 11-6. The White Sox beat the Reds 14-12 and Matt Davidson hit his third homer this Spring

Jonathan Toews scoring nine seconds into over time, he also had an assist in regulation. The Blackhawks beat the Colorado Avalanche 2-1. Chicago’s J. F. Berube was in net with 33 saves, Erik Gustafsson connected in the first period. Corey Crawford has been out of the net since December 23. The Blackhawks play host to the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow.   Cactus League action, on Tuesday with the Cubs winning over the Dodgers 9-5 and the White Sox topped the Brewers 6-4.

Jaylen Brown scored 21 points as the Celtics carried a 33 point lead into the fourth quarter when they blew out the Bulls 105-89 last night. Boston is now a game and a half away from Toronto for the Eastern Conference title. Chicago has lost fourteen games out of seventeen. Denzel Valentine had 20 points and nailed four three pointers. Zach LaVine shot one for eleven, he along with Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis combined to go just 6-29. The Bulls will host Memphis on Wednesday.   Ian Happ went three for four with a homer two RBIs with two runs scored as the Cubs win over the Rockies 5-4 in the Cactus League.   If you missed Sunday’s Blackhawks game then you missed Jonathan Toews dropping his gloves in a rare tussle with Duck’s center Ryan Kesler. It was the first time Toews was in a scuffle since October 2016. The Blackhawks are against the Avalanche tonight.

Joe Pavelski scored twice when the San Jose Sharks achieved their season high in goals with a 7-2 win over the Blackhawks last night. Artem Anisimov and Nick Schmaltz scored Chicago’s two goals. They’ve dropped their seventh consecutive road game while allowing the most goals this season. The Blackhawks are visiting the Kings this Saturday.   The Bulls are hosting the Dallas Mavericks tonight. The two teams are just playing for draft lottery positions. The Bulls have lost five in a row a and Dallas is just five of six games.   Spring Training on Thursday had the Cubs and Rockies tying the game 2-2. Ian Haap hit his third homerun of spring training, it was a two run shot in the third inning. The Cubs take on the Angels today, left hander Jose Quintana battles righty Garrett Richards.

The Chicago Bears plan to part ways with quarterback Mike Glennon. General Manager Ryan Pace said that they will release him rather than bring him back for a second season after he lost his starting position to Mike Trubisky. Running back Matt Forte announced his retirement after playing ten NFL seasons which he mostly played with the Bears.   The Bulls are getting back to action tomorrow against the Mavericks after coming off of Tuesday’s 118-103 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Chicago has won just two times in the past 8 games and have dropped five in a row.   The Blackhawks open up a three game road trip on the west coast tonight when they visit the San Jose Sharks. Jean-Francois Berube will be in the net for Chicago tonight. The Blackhawks will also visit the Kings and Ducks before returning home on Tuesday.

The Charlotte Hornets continued their winning streak with games in a row now. Dwight Howard and Kemba Walker led the team to a 113-108 victory over the Bulls. Walker with 31 points and Howard added 24 points. A double double for Bobby Portis who had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Chicago. Zach LaVine added 21 points with 4 rebounds.   White Sox prospect Jake Burger has torn his left achilles tendon and will likely be out for the season. The eleventh overall pick fell to the ground running a grounder while facing Oakland. He was likely to geared up to be the White Sox third baseman. He’ll travel to Chicago for surgery soon.   The Blackhawks are preparing for their road trip. They start with facing the Sharks in San Jose this Thursday. After visiting the Kings and Ducks, Chicago is back home on Tuesday facing the Avalanche.

The Chicago Blackhawks are now looking toward the future. The Nashville Predators gave up a first round pick as part of a deal to land forward Ryan Hartman from Chicago. The team also traded Tommy Wingels to the Boston Bruins for a 2019 additional fifth round pick. The Blackhawks also sent Michal Kempny to the Capitals in exchange for a third round pick. The Blackhawks now have eight picks in this upcoming draft. Chicago is going on a road trip starting this Thursday against the San Jose Sharks. They’ll face the Kings and the Ducks afterwards.   Allen Crabbe ahd 21 points helping the Brooklyn Nets snap an eight game losing skid against the Chicago Bulls last night the score was 104-87. The Bulls have lost for games in a row and are 7-18 away from the United Center. Chicago is visiting the Hornets tonight.   Cubs and White Sox face off in the Cactus League today.

NBA tonight the Bulls will visit the Brooklyn Nets. Chicago has lost three in a row and is just 7-17 away from the United Center this season. The Nets meanwhile have lost eight in a row. Tomorrow night the Bulls face the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets have won four in a row and are currently four games out a playoff birth in the Eastern Conference. Zach LaVine won’t play end to end on a back to back games for the rest of the season. Chicago wants remain cautious about his knee.   The Blackhawks resting up a bit after their 3-2 loss against Columbus. They’ll visit San Jose on Thursday. They can get back to five hundred with wins on the three game road trip. Chicago will visit the Kings and the Ducks before returning home on Tuesday.   Spring training update: the Cubs beat the Giants 12-10. They’ll take on the Mariners today and the White Sox tomorrow. Sox take on the A’s this afternoon.
