Synopsis: Abram exercised faith in God who spoke to him and obeyed His command to leave his country, people and family. God promised to bless Abram and make him a blessing, and God was faithful to His promise even though Abram was not without faults. Synopsis: God directed Noah to enter the ark he had made, the animals came to him and God shut him in. Noah, his family and all kinds of animals were preserved as God judged the earth with a global flood. Synopsis: After the earth was dried following the flood, Noah departed from the ark in obedience to God. He offered sacrifices of clean animals to God who established a covenant by the sign of a rainbow in the clouds, affirming He would never again destroy the earth with a flood. When Adam sinned the serpent, all people and the earth were subject to the curse of sin that brought death. Though sin could not be undone and the permanent consequences dire, God made a promise of new life through the Seed who was later revealed as Jesus Christ. By His death and resurrection Jesus is the Way to forgiveness, eternal life and freedom from the curse of sin for all who believe in Him.

Though God created the world good and man in His own image, Adam fell into sin by disobedience to God's command--and the rest of mankind with him. In the book of Esther, we see the faithfulness of God behind the scenes. It's been 65 years since the Babylonian captivity had ended. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and saw it was good. He also created man from the dust of the ground and saw it was not good for man to be alone. The book of Job concludes with the repentance and restoration of Job and his friends when he prayed for them. The almighty God allowed Job to suffer to accomplish His redemptive purposes by opening his eyes to see God like never before. God's greatness is seen in creation, and God concluded His revelation to Job with two creatures: behemoth and Leviathan. God has revealed He is able to do what man cannot do: humble the proud, destroy the wicked and save souls. After God challenged Job to measure up to all God has done, seen and knows, He used examples of animals who have skills and abilities superior to humans to further illustrate His supremacy and wisdom over all things. Job thinking he had grounds to rebuke God was soundly destroyed by the revelation of the Almighty God. Rather than taming us, God desires to transform us according to His understanding by faith and humility before Him.
