In response to Ruth's request, Boaz went to the gate to find the nearest kinsman to organise the purchase of Naomi's land as well as Ruth's redemption. When the closest kinsman was unable to redeem, Boaz was glad and willing to acquire Ruth as wife. Through them God provided Naomi a son, a beautiful illustration of God's grace extended to all by the Gospel.
