Sermon Podcast of Colossians 3
26/01/2020 Duración: 31minWhat does it mean to take off my old self and put on the new self that Jesus offers me ? One of the clearest signs that I am a sinner is how annoyed I get when people talk about sin. I don’t want to hear it. I want to change the topic. I start to question their motives, tell myself they are judgmental and self righteous. Paul has waited till chapter 3 to talk about sin because he wants his hearer’s to know that he cares about them, that he wants to seem them succeed, that he is for them. It is exactly because he wants them to flourish that he warns them about the destructive nature of sin. Join us as we dig into the hard, difficult, beautiful, hopeful message of Paul in Colossians 3:1-17

Sermon Podcast on Colossians 2
19/01/2020 Duración: 28minHave you ever met people who acted super spiritual ? They were so confident and lived so differently that it made you wonder about your own measly faith ? They subtlety sent the message that they were one of the “real Christians” as opposed to all the average Christians… like you. And yet something in your spirit told you there was something not quite right about them and their faith. Today Paul shows us three different ways that people drift from the freedom and the beauty of the gospel into the ditch of man-made religions that look Holy but are actually bondage. Join us as we meet Larry the lawmaker, Harry the Hippie, and Martha the minimalist. The easy part is seeing people you know who are just like them. The hard part is admitting which one is most likely to seduce you!

Christmas Eve - "Right into the middle of..."
25/12/2019 Duración: 14minWe wonder how these old Christmas stories, in this old dusty book called the bible, could be of any help in building a better future. This Christmas Eve we walk with Lucy from the Chronicles of Narnia into the wardrobe and discover a light still shining in the darkness.

God in my Everything - Witness
17/11/2019 Duración: 32minOne of the greatest joys of life is helping another person experience the good news of the Gospel - helping them to know the joy of following Jesus. But how do you do that without being preachy, self-righteous, and annoying ? Also, some of us are still unsure about following Jesus ourselves. We don't want to be blind sheep, we have doubts and questions. If I had a conversion what proof would there be that it was actually real ? Whether you are a seeker or someone who wants to help seekers experience God, join us as we look at two key moments when very ordinary people encountered the presence of Jesus the Christ.

God in my Everything – Justice
10/11/2019 Duración: 35minI want to make my mark for good in the world. And Christians are to fight for mercy and justice for all. But what does all that look like in the real world ? What practices and habits really help ? How should my faith and my politics go together ? Should governments act just like individuals but on a larger scale – or do governments have a very different role to play? Join us as we take a deep dive into scripture and then try to see how biblical teaching can guide a citizen of a modern Democratic Republic today. See the show notes below for the images of Conservatives, Liberals, and Libertarians mentioned in the sermon.
