John the Baptist testifies that Jesus is the Messiah and John is not. This helps us understand why the Gospels were written. The story of Christ at the time was well know.     Bible Study: Jeremiah 17:5-10 – The verb here for “trust” means “to rely on”. This may seem harsh but this is good advice. Jesus did not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people in John 2.
