Judges concludes with two heart-wrenching stories illustrating how far the people were from God. Both feature a Levite as a key character, signifying that even the priestly class of wise sages did not have the heartbeat of God within them. The lesson for us is that our hearts could be far from God and we could be excluding God from our lives and decisions, but the consequence is a total breakdown in society and in our own moral fiber. Instead, let us focus our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith!

The story of Samson is the story of a man empowered by God with incredible strength. But he used that strength for his own selfish purposes. He enhanced his feats, but not his character. He was vindictive and jealous. He was strong versus men, but his weakness was with the ladies. We need to learn from him, lest we stray from our divine mission like he did from his.

The account of Jephthah shows us the need to guard what we say and how we say it. Both he and those around him hurt each other in their negative words. Let us show one another, and the lost, the love of Christ by speaking encouraging words.

Gideon started off well, but pride and the lure of worldliness caused his legacy to fall flat. How is the world's gripping you?

Gideon has some real doubts in God because of his difficult circumstances. God works within that doubt to bring Gideon to a place of deeper faith... faith that succeeds.

The story of Barak is a story of faith, or rather, of doubt. Barak did not want to step up alone, he wondered if God would be with him. So instead of Barak receiving the honor of victory, God gave the honor to a woman who acted on faith even when no one was around to notice her.

Judges opens its series of stories with three men: Othniel, Ehud, and Shamgar. Each show us a bit of how God empowers people to serve Him.

The book of Judges paints a picture of what happens to a civilization when it forgets God. We can look at them or we can turn towards ourselves and ask whether we need to grow in our fervency for Christ.

The book of Judges opens with work the Israelites need to finish. Some step up to serve, others sit back and cozy up to their idolatrous neighbors. Today, we have a very different task than they did, but a task that remains incomplete. What lessons can we observe for our remaining work?

Christians need to be always changing, always growing. Where do you need to grow today?

God has given us a great gift for growth: His Church. Being together with the church is a means of Christian maturity.

God Takes Back the Humble Sinner. God is Pleased When We Depend on Him. God Provides for Those Who Know Him.

God welcomes us into His presence. Its then a matter of if we will come to Him and seek His face.

What awesome things has the Lord done in your life? What awesome things is He up to now?

God loves to forgive. We will enjoy being forgiven. We just have to ask.

When life is tough, God is there to give you a hope for the future.

Jesus knows what it feels like when someone close stabs you in the back. He is there to help you through it and bringing healing to you.

God has made a way to forgive us through His steadfast love.

Is it a lovely thing to be in the presence of God? This Psalm invites us to fall in love with the Lord all over again.

God is involved in your life. He knows you. He is with you. He crafted you. He wants a deep friendship with you.
