For a lack of titles, I have named this "The Apostasy of Peter." The study is on 2 Thessalonians 2:3, and the statement: "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is unveiled, the son of perdition..." We are going to let the Bible answer both of these, regarding where to go to find their fulfillment. Starting with the first one today.

Today we continue our look at Abraham, and how he was saved.

For the promise that he should be heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. (Rom 4:13)For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, (Rom 4:14) Today we look at the "righteousness of faith."

The second half of the same message, "Take heed that no man deceive you." A look at people who have been deceived, past and present. Also, we peer into the future to see how over a billion people will be deceived, by ONE single event!

Preached at Trinity Bible Church on 12/31/2011. The first of many, kicking off Matthew 24 with fresh insights into the Word of God. This entire message is on verse 4, "Take heed that no man deceive you."

Looking at Matthew 24:4, as well as 2 Thess 2, and the surprising, recurring theme: Take heed that no man deceive you."

"Blessed are they whose lawless deeds have been forgiven, and whose sins have been covered; (Rom 4:7)Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall by no means impute sin." (Rom 4:8)

Romans 4:1-3(1)  What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?(2)  For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.(3)  For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith. Also, verse 30: 30  since there is one God who will justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith. What did paul mean by that?

Glory to God in the highest, (and on earth): Peace Goodwill towards men.

"Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God."  (1Sam 30:6)

It's written of David, that he "encouraged himself in the Lord his God." How do we do that? Part 2 of 3. Preached at Trinity Bible Church.

God: Just, and the Justifier.

Today we look at this word propitiation, and its underlying Greek word, Hilasterion.

Today we look at God, who is both "Just," and the "Justifier" of those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. It's a great word picture--"just" being the adjective, describing the attribute, and "justifier" being the action verb. "...Whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, for a demonstration of His righteousness through the passing over of the sins having previously committed, in the forbearance of God, (Rom 3:25)for a demonstration of His righteousness in the present time, that He might be just and the justifier of he who has faith in Jesus. (Rom 3:26)

"Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Rom 3:24)

"...For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God..." (Rom 3:23)
