Ephesians 4:14-16 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head -- Christ -- 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Today we look at spiritual gifts: What they are, what their purpose is, and their duration.   8 Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men." 9 (Now this, "He ascended" -- what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism. Actually, today we look at, "One hope of your calling."

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 "According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."

What does keeping the "unity of the Spirit" entail? Proverbs 6:16-19 16 These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

Again, walk worthy of the calling with which you are called, with all: 1. Humility 2. Meekness 3. Longsuffering.

Ephesians 4:1 "Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called..." And what a high calling this is!

Ephesians 3:14-21 14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and upon earth takes its name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power by His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; being rooted and founded in love, 18 that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height-- 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly more than all the things which we ask or think, according to the power which is working in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Paul's intercessory prayer. Today's is an evangelical message inviting one and all into the household of God.
