Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 2 Chapter 1 Text 38 devy-ādeśena taṁ mantraṁ vivikte satataṁ japan dhanecchāyā nivṛtto ’bhūl lebhe ca hṛdi nirvṛtim TRANSLATION On the order of the goddess, he chanted the mantra constantly to himself in a secluded place. Gradually he gave up his desire for wealth, and his heart became satisfied.

Śrī Vāsudeva, in the form of a brāhmaṇa’s disciple, was dragging me out of the blind well of family life and guiding me to choose to fast till death on the shore of the celestial Gaṅgā.
