Ray Kaselonis serves as Senior Counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom’s Center for Christian Ministries. Since joining ADF, he has focused his practice on representing churches, religious ministries, and Christian schools to ensure their freedoms are protected under the First Amendment. Ray works directly with the Alliance Defending Freedom Church Alliance and Ministry Alliance, which were founded to support the increasing legal needs of churches and ministries across the United States.

Dan Stovall is a retired Baptist minister and founder of Perpetual Amity, a Christian nonprofit organization in Illinois that aims to break barriers and build relationship with people from all parts of the world through the support of international students. The goal of Perpetual Amity is to live out the Gospel and show foreign students that Americans are generous, supportive, and caring people.

Dr. Wendy Patrick is a career trial attorney who has completed over 160 trials ranging from hate crimes to first-degree murder. In her current assignment, as a Deputy District Attorney in the San Diego Special Operations Division, she handles cases involving sensitive issues including threat assessment. Wendy previously worked in the Sex Crimes and Human Trafficking Division defending the interests of survivors by prosecuting violent sexual predators and human traffickers.

Doug Morrow is the Executive Director of Baptist Foundation of Illinois, an organization that exists to help individuals, churches, associations, and institutions meet their charitable and financial goals. Their mission is to encourage believers to respond both individually and corporately to God’s call of stewardship upon their lives.

Jeffrey Schwab is a Mauck & Baker alum and Senior Attorney at Liberty Justice Center, where he litigates cases to protect the rights to free speech, economic liberty, private property, and other Constitutional rights in both federal and state courts in Illinois. Liberty Justice Center is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public-interest litigation center that seeks to ensure that the rights to earn a living and start a business are available to all and fights to protect other fundamental rights in Illinois and beyond. National Right to Work is a nonprofit charitable organization with a mission to eliminate coercive union power and compulsory unionism abuses through strategic litigation, public information, and education programs. They advocate that every individual must have the right, but must not be compelled, to join a labor union.

Sally Wagenmaker is a founding partner at Wagenmaker & Oberly where she provides legal counsel in corporate, tax, employment, and real estate matters for nonprofits. She is also the current President of Christian Legal Society where she has been actively involved since law school.

Terry Lu is a new attorney at Mauck & Baker who is passionate about using his career as a lawyer to serve and grow the body of Christ. Terry Lu originally graduated with a degree in Chemistry but a few years after went back to school to pursue Law. Prior to joining Mauck & Baker, Terry’s professional practice was primarily focused on litigation, but he is motivated to expand into other practice areas to better serve the interests of his clients.

Steve Zielke is the principal of St. Peter Lutheran School in Schaumburg and current President of the Northern IL District of Lutheran School Administrators. Over the past 40 years Steve has had a varied experience in Lutheran schools. He has taught students in the second grade through college. He has also served as principal of two Lutheran high schools and two Lutheran elementary schools.

Debbie Birkey is the Great Lakes Senior Regional Representative for HOPE International. HOPE International is a network of microfinance institutions operating in 17 countries around the world working to empower men, women, and families to break the cycles of physical and spiritual poverty through discipleship, biblically based business training, savings services, and small loans. HOPE’s mission is to invest in the dreams of people in the world’s most underserved communities while proclaiming and living out the Gospel.

Dr. Paige Comstock Cunningham is the executive director of The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity, a center of rigorous research, theological and conceptual analysis, and thoughtful engagement. She is also an attorney and a professor at Trinity Law School and Trinity Graduate School. Dr. Cunningham has published numerous articles, editorials, and chapters in the areas of law, bioethics, and public policy, and has testified before Congress and state legislative committees.

Karen Poulos is the President of Re:new Project, an organization that equips and employs refugee women in the Chicagoland area. The mission of Re:new is to provide a space for refugee women to thrive as they rebuild their hopes and dreams in the United States. Along the way, Re:new hopes to encourage communities to value and seek relationships with refugee neighbors.

Reverend Jon Rich is the district superintendent for the Midwest District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The Christian and Missionary Alliance focuses on developing thriving local churches in order to motivate and mobilize believers to effectively proclaim the gospel. The Midwest District covers Illinois and Indiana, including nearly 70 local churches and ministries that span across the social economic and ethnic spectrum.

Kimberly Brisky is the director of communications and public affairs at the Small Business Advocacy Council in Chicago. She is here with us today to talk about how small businesses are essential to our community and why they need advocates. The Small Business Advocacy Council’s mission is to help small businesses succeed by empowering its members. Some of the ways they do this is by giving small businesses a voice in government and by helping generate partnerships between business owners in the community.

Duane Sherman is the Acquisitions Editor of Strategic Partnerships at Moody Publishers. Moody Publishers is a nonprofit Christian publishing house located in Chicago that has distributed more than 300 million books to those seeking guides for spiritual and relational growth, Biblical commentaries, Christian fiction, and more. Duane Sherman’s role at Moody Publishers is to develop strategic publishing partnerships with national and international churches and ministries to create mutually beneficial growth.

Peter Roskam currently represents Illinois’ 6th District in the United States House of Representatives, and is currently in his sixth term of service. During his time in government, Representative Roskam has demonstrated he is willing to work with others, and has demonstrated Christ-like character in addressing the needs of the American people.

Phil Cooke is a filmmaker, media consultant, and founder of Cooke Pictures in Los Angeles, California who also has a Ph.D in Theology. Phil Cooke has produced media programming in more than 60 countries around the world and has created many influential and successful Christian and inspirational TV programs. His most recent book co-written with Jonathan Bock, The Way Back: How Christians Blew Our Credibility and How We Get it Back, challenges Christ-followers to confront the real reasons our faith is losing influence in the culture.

Travis Wussow is the Vice President for Public Policy and General Counsel for the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and currently manages public policy efforts in Washington DC. The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is an organization of the Southern Baptist Convention which exists to promote religious liberty and assist churches with moral and ethical concerns in the public arena. Prior to his current role, Travis Wussow launched ERLC’s first international office located in the Middle East.

Doug Bennett is running for Illinois’ 10th Congressional District, pledging to fight for conservative values in Washington D.C. by supporting hard-working families and businesses, reforming healthcare to make it more affordable, and advocating for common sense education reform.
