It was a busy episode of the Real Life Podcast this week as the boys had a lot to talk about with another NHL Draft in the books. As you know, the Oilers got lucky and managed to snag Evan Bouchard with the 10th overall pick despite being ranked much higher in the draft order. With the draft on their minds, the boys looked at Ottawa landing Brady Tkachuk with the 4th overall pick and wondered what the approach will be with their new prized prospect considering the trainwreck that's happening around the franchise. With the Squire out of the office, the boys needed to bring in a third to make sure that they stayed on track. Thankfully, Chalmers, a longtime friend of Wanye and Squire, has a long history with the boys and plenty of stories to go along with it. With that in mind, they wanted to get to the bottom of who Chalmers is and what he's doing on the podcast so Wanye briefly walked through their history together, including stories of building a bar together, running pub crawls, and the history of the Nation. After getting bailed on by this week's guest, the boys had to do their best to pivot and come up with a podcast out of thin air. Fortunately, there was still plenty to talk about and the boys got into it with a look at Alex Ovechkin's Stanley Cup celebration. Some people think that the Caps are overdoing it, but the guys think they're celebrating exactly how they should be after winning it all. Speaking of celebrating, the Squire is feeling pretty good this week after he won a bet that will see him buying Nation Dan a 'Vegas Sucks' hat that ND will be required to wear at least once per week for a full calendar year.
