    25/10/2020

Mat 5:33 ESV - "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' Mat 5:34 ESV - But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, Mat 5:35 ESV - or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Mat 5:36 ESV - And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Mat 5:37 ESV - Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil.

  • Matthew 5:21-26: Anger and the 6th Commandment

    05/10/2020

Mat 5:21 ESV - "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.' Mat 5:22 ESV - But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire. Mat 5:23 ESV - So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, Mat 5:24 ESV - leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Mat 5:25 ESV - Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. Mat 5:26 ESV - Truly, I say to you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.

  • John the Baptist

Matthew 3:1–12 John the Baptist Prepares the Way [1] In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, [2] “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” [3] For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.’” [4] Now John wore a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. [5] Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him, [6] and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. [7] But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? [8] Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. [9] And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these sto

Mat 2:14 ESV - And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt Mat 2:15 ESV - and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, "Out of Egypt I called my son." Mat 2:16 ESV - Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. Mat 2:17 ESV - Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: Mat 2:18 ESV - "A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be comforte

    05/07/2020

[Phl 3:17-21 ESV] 17 Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. 18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
