Culinary whizz and all round legendary bloke Curtis Stone dropped by the studio super early to chat about his tour of WA, Australian beef and the sausage roll he sells at his LA restaurant. Nope, we didn’t make that up, the Americans love em! However when Curtis did rock up, he came about 40 minutes early and it was a tad awkward because we were totally unprepared at 5.30am. Caitlyn called in to tell us about the time she hid dirty dishes in the oven when her friend showed up early, and Fiona had some awkward neighbours show up to a family event in Ireland. And tonight’s episode of Bride & Prejudice sees Izzy and Simon break-up – and thank god for that. Izzy called in to talk about the experience and how she’s glad that loser is out of her life! Shaun’s family bailed on a restaurant because they wanted to charge $6.50 cakeage per slice! Apparently other ridiculous charges exist, like $150 cleaning fee in an uber when you sit on a damp towel (the seats were leather) or a $9 per slice cakeage fee even after Scott and his group had spent over 5 grand! After hearing about the shark attack victim in Mandurah dragging himself to safety, the guys wanted to hear stories about when dragging yourself to safety have happened elsewhere. Turns out there’s plenty of just general dragging stories in Perth – like Kylie who dragged herself down the hallway to feed the baby when she hurt her leg, and a super crazy horse story involving a poor friend being dragged from Cara. And the scandal of the morning was button-presser Shaan admitting to liking candles! He got one for his birthday from his Mum – so in amongst calls about bad gifts there were also some men supporting Shaan in love for candles – well, sort of supporting anyway. Earlier this week a BHP train had to be deliberately derailed because it took off on its own without a driver – and all the iron ore ended up on the tracks. Got us thinking – what on earth did they have to tell the buyers of that Iron ore about why their delivery was late? Turns out there’s been some interesting late delivery excuses, including a staff member stealing the goods, and a roller door being delivered to the wrong house. In the US a note has been posted about the communal area in an apartment block being booked out for a home birth. We heard some more stories about weird uses of communal areas, including poor old Matt who’s Mrs threw all his clothes into the communal pool in some misguided anger at him. And Shaun had to leave a tad early today – so Tom Gleeson came in and kept Nathan & Nat company! Apparently one in four Aussies don’t know their neighbours. Which sometimes can be a good thing, as Erin’s sister discovered when her elderly neighbour decided to use her kitchen…luckily it was for good. Tom also wished he didn’t know his neighbours when he basically ended up as their handyman. Steve Butler called through again today to make sure the guys were enjoying themselves in the studio here in Perth while he was living the life in Melbourne for the Spring Racing Carnival. Oaks Day today and he’s checking out all the celebrities in the birdcage. Greg Hire dropped by ahead of the Wildcats home game against Brisbane on Friday, and in amongst the very small amount of basketball chat there was a discovery about Nathan’s melted pinwheel. And a couple of new shows hit the small screen tonight – Nazeem Hussain called in to plug ‘Orange is the New Brown’ on Seven, and Pete Helliar and Lisa McCune are explaining ‘How to Stay Married ‘ on Channel Ten. Yesterday producers Amy & Claire went for coffee, and Amy failed to point out to Claire that she still had a roller in her hair. The entire time. Cheryl called in to tell us about her husband who failed to tell her about a very revealing blouse on the tube in London, and Lyn had relish all over her face after cooking and not a soul mentioned it to her. Last night on Bride & Prejudice a Mother offered up ten grand to her son’s partner to cancel the wedding. We heard stories about pay-offs, including Ben who got hit by a lady in a car and she gave him all the money in her purse, and Dee who was offered cash to attend an event with someone. And Melbourne Cup winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy promised his wife and kids a massive house with a pool if he won the Cup. Turns out the house prices in Melbourne are a tad more expensive than what he won! Andrea told her son she would pay for half his car if he didn’t go to Bali for schoolies – so he asked for Mustang. Melbourne Cup Day was a banger full of tips and tricks from Shaun McManus – which means no wins obviously. Bruce McAvaney called through to get us pumped up for the big event and to pass on his tips – if only he could have had Winx in there he would have been the happiest man alive. Shaun’s Mum Sue McManus once won half a million bucks on the big race – so we made sure to get her on with her tips in case we could get in on the money! Except turns out she wasn’t great at narrowing it down to one or two horses…. And a quick cross to Steve Butler who was in Melbourne where it was absolutely pouring down before the meet– we thought the race might not even go ahead! Luckily it did in the end, and Steve stayed relatively dry. Plus – if you’re not into hose racing, there’s trains! We heard stories of runaway vehicles after the train derailment in the Pilbara. Katie Hill is filling in for Ellie while she’s away this week – and Katie decided to walk to work from West Perth this morning. Suffice to say something murder-y happened, it being 4am and dark. She’s not the only one who thought she was going to die – Louise thought some bikies had it in for her and Jordan had an interesting reaction on a flight. Shaun’s mate got his currency mixed up in the Czech republic and thought the large coins were 10c worth – they were actually worth about $5! Jane got stitched up in Morocco when she accidentally paid $28 for a small bag of spices, and Michelle forked out for a hotel room without really understanding just how much it would cost… And the race that stops the nation is on tomorrow! It finally happened... a popcorn chicken truck rolled and we like to think there was a feast! We wanted to know what you found on the road - Steven found some decor for his new house, and Tanya’s Mum found something pretty tasty! Adam Gilchrist called through to chat about the review of Cricket Australia and this weekend One Day International, he also copped some flak from Nathan about his lack of knowledge of a certain TV show starting with B and ending with ‘uffy The Vampire Slayer’. And when Greg Hire from the Perth Wildcats dropped by to preview this weeks game, he also told us a story about a bloke he saw accidentally hit a child in the head with a broomstick but no one noticed and he totally got away with it! Today’s show started in Brazil, where a guy at bar was playing on his phone and was completely oblivious to a robbery taking place directly in front of him! Bridie called in to tell about the time she went swimming in the pool and had no clue that a not-so-friendly creepy crawly had joined her. Yesterday was Halloween and Nathan had a bit of an experience with some trick-or-treaters. And Shaun’s street went off! Vanessa called through and explained what happened to her decorations, and Jennifer’s son was given an interesting treat.... And fellow Nova employee and now renowned children’s book author Kate Ritchie dropped in to tell us all her her new book, and defend herself from the guys telling her how easy it is to write kids books. It’s super spooky dooky Halloween! And one lady got a really big scare when the creepy fake teeth she used for a costume got completely stuck in her mouth. Other scary costume dramas include a mankini exposure situation, and a cape choking incident. Beware of costumes! Even scarier is Nathan on Breakfast club...luckily this week Marlene/Brian stepped in and the one and only Matt Preston approved! He’s got a new book out with recipes from around the world so he made everyone extremely jealous of his travels and dining. Plus some gossip on George’s very Greek wedding... And perhaps the most terrifying of all...parenthood! Luckily Maggie Dent dropped by to offer some advice on ‘Mothering our Boys’, which coincidentally is the title of her new and final book. Narelda Jacobs dropped by the studio to bask in the glory of ten whole years with her Channel Ten news team! In true Anchorman-style, she reckons she could take on one Perth newsreader in a fight – but would she win? Australia’s not-so-sweet hearts Sara & Hayden won The Block last night, much to many viewer’s disappointment. What wasn’t disappointing was the length of Sara’s answer….the longest answer EVER! There was a Royal Faux Par! Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex was photographed with a tag attached to her dress – Nathan reckons it was the price tag so she could return it after she’d worn it. AS IF! Turns out there were plenty of stories about people using something and returning it! The Wildcats went down to the Brisbane Bullets last night so we caught up with our Wildcat Greg Hire to discuss what happened and what they need to do to beat Melbourne United at home plus hang about for Greg’s “dad jokes” at the end… One of Nat’s friends posted on Facebook that she was 3 weeks behind with putting up her Christmas Tree – what tha! Well we found out that she is not the only one, apparently putting up your tree in October is totally normal to some people. EGG-GATE 2018 will be forever etched into our minds as Shaun couldn’t possibly go on without his breakfast of eggs which he left at home. Lucky for him there was a saviour on the streets of Perth, and this brave woman set out to make things right in the world. Basically, Shaun made someone go get him eggs. Jamie Lee Curtis managed to get the guys of the topic of eggs for a few minutes – the 2nd instalment of Halloween is in cinemas today and she told the guys all about how her life has changed since the first one came out many years ago. And she doesn’t actually watch horror movies at all! And turns out there was some serious meddling going in in the relationship of James Packer and Mariah Carey – one of Packer’s mates was particularly keen to stop the wedding from happening. A few relationship meddlers called through including Nicole who told a work colleague about her wayward partner – and then she proceeded to have a bit of meltdown involving head shaving Britney-style.  See omnystudio.com/l

Today we kicked off with some stories of unfortunate miscalculation, after a jockey got the number of laps wrong in his horse race and finished an entire lap early. David and his Navy mates miscalculated the order for an amount of a certain biscuit....he will likely never eat an Oreo again! Daniel Garb joined us to chat all things A-League including an update on Usain Bolt’s contract with the Mariners.... And in keeping with the sport theme we spoke to the Sheike of Tweak himself, Shane Warne! He’s got a new book out and he certainly didn’t shy away from any questions about his career, his misbehaving and Nathan’s favourite bit - his relationship with Liz Hurley. Today the guys wanted to explore the world of UberEats…and turns out some random stuff goes on, including deliveries on subway trains and to the top levels of construction sites! Surely that’s some sort of decent delivery fee…. Chris Hemsworth and a mate picked up a hitchhiker to take to Byron Bay…in a helicopter. The bloke had no clue who he was riding with either! Plenty more hitchhiking stories like Mel who copped a lecture from her driver and Martin who gave a guy a ride…and found out later that said guy was rather murdery. Terrifying. And Shaun produced some top parenting last night when he and Meegan made the kids try some chicken they thought was a bit pongy. Obviously they’re not the only iffy parents around, from testing electric fences to going first down really high snow slopes, loads of people use their kids for stuff. On Friday night Nathan took Brain & Marlene to Taylor Swift, and Brian proceeded to spend the entire concert with some people who he considered his ‘fans’ - leaving Marlene totally alone watching Swifty! We heard other stories of partner abandonment, including poor Narelle who’s partner abandoned her in their garage and took off – while she was going into labour! Oops. Hans & Courtney from The Block dropped into the studio to chat about last night’s episode, and to tell us what Sara & Hayden are REALLY like….well, as close as they could get without being too mean. Not long till auction time team! Nathan’s taking his parents to Taylor Swift tonight – and Brian Morris has told him they need to get there early to make sure the parking situation is all good. His suggestion? 4pm. The concert starts at 7.30. Apparently there are plenty of other over-preparers in Perth, like Kane’s parents who do dummy runs when they have appointments, and Danielle’s brother-in-law who planned their travel itinerary right down to the coffee breaks. Peter Bell is the new Football Manager at Freo and since he’s slotted into the job he’s managed to secure Jesse Hogan & Rory Lobb in exchange for Lachie Neale, amongst other things. He told the guys about loving the late wake-ups now he doesn’t work in radio anymore, and how tense the AFL trade period can be. Also he couldn’t figure out his computer at Freo, he reckons it’s harder than operating a radio desk! And Greg Hire is back in the house after a win against the Illawarra Hawks at home last week. Craig Lowndes won Bathurst, and he also won the ‘best caravan in the land’ prize as well! Yes, he’s got a caravan and yes, that ties in extremely well with the fact that he’s retiring. Plus the Gold Coast 600 kicks off this week so he gave us the lowdown on that. A girl in China fell into an aquarium when she decided to take a shortcut…that aquarium was full of sharks. She got out of there, but turns out shortcuts aren’t always the best idea. For example, don’t try and take the shortcut up to your unit via jumping the retaining wall above the underground carpark. Ouch. We all know Donald Trump is no gentleman – he didn’t even give his wife an umbrella to keep her out of the rain. Turns out there’s some not-quite-gentlemen in Perth too, like Emily’s husband who took the single business class upgrade on the way to the UK…they were going to her fathers funeral. You may have heard something about some royals being in the country - and one gorgeous old lady who checked herself out of hospital just to meet Prince Harry again. Bless. Turns out loads of people have checked themselves out of hospital, and for some not-so-ideal reasons, like getting a tattoo and making a footy game. Bad idea, guys. Speaking of footy, the trade period ends today and Fox News’ Julian DeStoop called through to go over what’s likely to happen in the final hours. He also called for a shorter timeframe because this trade period has last FOR EVER. And back to the royals, just in case you were getting antsy. The famous McManus - Rove- got to meet Harry & Meghan yesterday in Sydney! There is always that one job at your workplace that no one likes to do, poor apprentice Mitch called through, let’s just say it’s a little stinky on the nose! There is another Royal Baby coming we basically we couldn’t care less BUT our Producers are beside themselves with excitement, to the point they feel like they are part of the Royal Family, the countdown has officially begun!
