Ep #43: Risk Aversion
15/06/2018 Duración: 13minFinance only piece coming your way, and today, we're focused on risk aversion...or the average investor's dislike for risk. The two biggest takeaways from this episode are: 1) Your risk aversion will very likely change (and get higher) as you get older 2) There's a simple and easy way to limit your risk on your portfolio, if you're near/in retirement Subscribe on YT! tinyurl.com/y9mdfnsl Connect on IG! www.instagram.com/jschultzf3/

Ep #42: Your Training Toolbox
14/06/2018 Duración: 15minWhen it comes to fitness, we all have a toolbox - a collection of available tips, tricks, strategies, and structures that we can apply to help us reach our goals. What we need to remember, though, is that all of these tools are not created equally. Some are more like a 'hammer', as we lean on them early and often, while others are far more specific, like a 'socket wrench'. With these, their purpose is a lot more specialized, and their use is a lot less frequent. Subscribe on YT! tinyurl.com/y9mdfnsl Connect on IG! www.instagram.com/jschultzf3/

Ep #41: Monday Motivation - Internal and External
11/06/2018 Duración: 13minToday, we take a crack at all three of the Fs to get us motivated and inspired to take no prisoners this Monday! Regardless of whether you're talking fitness, finance, or faith, it is the internal engine that needs to be running hot, before any meaningful external action can be expected. Ep #40: Christian Divisiveness
08/06/2018 Duración: 22minIf I survey the world around me through a Christian lens, one of the things I notice is that there are half a dozen, or so, common objections to the Christian faith. For example, Is the bible true? Can we really trust its content? Is Jesus really God? These are terrific questions, and they are important questions that I think you need a solid answer to, in order to build a strong foundation in your faith. Well, along those same lines, we address another one of the more common issues with Christianity. The issue is this: since Christians believe they alone have the 'answer', that will naturally breed feelings of superiority and outward acts of injustice. Well, not only does true Christianity not lead to those things, but also we share two points to suggest it will do the exact opposite. Ep #39: The Time Lag
06/06/2018 Duración: 16minLet's be real - getting in shape isn't easy. It's tough. It'll test you and try you and take you to places you don't want to be. The sheer process itself is a daily challenge. This is just the truth - regardless of what your Instagram heroes might suggest. Given that, there's one interesting little phenomenon that occurs within these struggles that really makes everything that much harder. I call it the 'Time Lag', and it's something that dawned on me years ago, but I'm just now sharing with the world now. To make matters worse - this lag ends up hitting us on both ends of the physical fitness process... Subscribe on YT! tinyurl.com/y9mdfnsl Connect on IG! www.instagram.com/jschultzf3/

Ep #38: Monday Motivation - No Substitute for Experience
04/06/2018 Duración: 12minAcross each of the Fs, fitness, finance, faith, and probably any other field in life, there is simply no substitute for experience. Learning, understanding, and building up knowledge and know-how has its time and place, and it is an important part of the process. But, it should always be viewed as more of a starting point, rather than an ending point. In this episode, we talk through what this looks like for each F. Ep #37: Monday Motivation - The 'Want To'
21/05/2018 Duración: 14minLeave it to psychology to give us another golden nugget, and to leave me a clearly laid out explanation for the entire foundation of F Cubed. Long-lasting, sustainable change is often the product of going after something because you "want to", not because you "have to". Ep #36: Time, Discipline, and Knowledge in Investing
18/05/2018 Duración: 11minIn the world of trading and investing, there are three dimensions that you will need to understand and/or master to reach your potential: time, discipline, and knowledge. Of the three, time is almost certainly the most powerful, with knowledge likely being the least understood. To kick off the weekend, we work through what each of these three variables look like for a passive investor or an active trader. Ep #35: Poverty Macros
17/05/2018 Duración: 12minWe've got a little fitness only episode today, and we're talking "poverty macros". I've seen many, many people who want to get in shape come right out of the chutes slashing their calories (and macros) down to "poverty" levels. If someone is just starting out, and doesn't know better, then this is understandable, as they might feel this is the only way forward. But, having spent so many years in the bodybuilding world, I've always seen a number of people who DO know better do the same thing - take their macros down to super low levels right from the start. In a way, I think they're doing this as very much a "badge of honor". I say all of this having done this very thing myself, for more years than I care to admit. Ep #34: Monday Motivation - Discomfort
14/05/2018 Duración: 17minIn today's Monday Motivation, we turn to highly decorated Psychologist, Susan David for our inspiration. Inside of her work on "Emotional Agility", she stated, "Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life." Upon hearing that, I immediately thought of the applicability of this line to fitness, finance, and most importantly, faith. I hope this gives you guys a boost today! Ep #33: Progressively Overload the Same Split
12/05/2018 Duración: 18minToday, I make the case for using the same training split for an indefinite period of time. Whether this be weeks or months, I propose that it is much easier to analyze and identify progressive overload (or lack thereof), when you're using the same split - week in and week out. This is in contrast to going in and "shocking the muscle", with different workouts each time. Subscribe on YT! tinyurl.com/y9mdfnsl Connect on IG! www.instagram.com/jschultzf3/

Ep #32: Progress is Black and White
09/05/2018 Duración: 12minAnyone who's ever undergone a radical physique transformation will probably agree with Laurin Conlin's (IFBB Bikini Pro) quote: "Dieting will be longer than you like and slower than you think." Having turned things around from an overweight and out-of-shape youth, I can attest to this, and I completely agree. On a day-by-day basis, this feels like you're just starting at the same black-and-white photo day after day after day. Until one morning, a splash of color shows up, and it changes everything. Ep #31: Monday Motivation: The Freedom of the Cross
08/05/2018 Duración: 14minIt may be a Tuesday, but I'm nobody if not somebody who likes to take chances and buck the trend, so I wanted to go ahead and lay out some Monday Motivation for you guys, TODAY! And, our inspiration for this piece comes from one singular source - the gospel. Recently I've come to the realization that the more I learn about Jesus - his life, his teachings, his sacrifice - the more I'm lead to a destination in my faith that is surprisingly colored with nothing but freedom. Ep #30: Passive Investors 'Don't Know That They Don't Know'
04/05/2018 Duración: 16minCut me a little slack today because it might sound like you've stepped into The Matrix, with 'knowing that you don't know', or 'not knowing that you know'. But, in all of my years in finance and as an educator, I actually view this as a big issue that plagues many passive investors. Specifically, they 'don't know that they don't know', which is not too dissimilar from thinking that 'they know'. As a result, they're simply not equipped to make the best decisions under duress. Ep #29 How Long Should you Rest Between Sets?
02/05/2018 Duración: 13minOne of the most important, yet commonly overlooked variables within your training program, is how long you rest between sets. I think most people have a very haphazard approach to their rest periods. And, even when rest periods are being monitored, they are too short to maximize performance - our ultimate goal in the gym. Ep #28: Monday Motivation - Finding your Why
30/04/2018 Duración: 19minBig shout-out to my man, Simon Sinek. Today's piece is largely inspired by his book "Start with Why", and he makes the case that people don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it. From that, I wanted to encourage you all to sit down and figure out your own whys inside of the three Fs: fitness, finance, and faith. I think we all spend too much time on the how, and not nearly enough time on the why. To give you some ideas to consider, I share my own why within each F of the cube. Ep #27: RPEs and Fatigue Management
27/04/2018 Duración: 19minRPE, or Rate of Perceived Exertion, has had a monumental impact on the effectiveness and sustainability of my training. It is something that I borrowed from the powerlifting community and only recently discovered in the last 3-5 years. Most of the first decade of my bodybuilding career was spent feeling like I HAD to take every set to failure, or it didn't really count. Knowing what I know now, I am fully convinced that this lead to very sub-optimal results. So, if there's anything that you guys could take away from today's episode, I would consider applying RPEs to your own training ASAP. Your long-term health will thank you for it. Ep #26: The Cost of Money
26/04/2018 Duración: 14minIn this piece, I wanted to take a very macro view at understanding one of the central pieces to the global economy - money. Specifically, money has a cost, and this is always represented by the interest rate that might be associated with those funds. If we start at the very top, with the Federal Reserve, we can begin to see how their targeting only a few different interest rates ends up having a domino effect on the entire economy. This includes not only businesses and corporations, but you and me, as well. Subscribe on YT! tinyurl.com/y9mdfnsl Connect on IG! www.instagram.com/jschultzf3/

Ep #25: Training and Nutrition - Audit your Strengths
25/04/2018 Duración: 17minA great tool for life is to take inventory of your strengths - what you're good at. I think we all spend far too much time focusing on what we're not so good at, or our inabilities, or our weaknesses. Instead, flip that on its head and become keenly aware of what you are good at - where you excel. The benefits of this are no clearer seen than with training and nutrition. Truth be told, inside of a few universal principles, there are many ways to reach your physical fitness goals. To get there, I propose that you structure your training and nutrition to align with those strengths. To help you generate your own ideas, I share my extreme dislike for changing my routine and where I draw the line with my own approach to flexible dieting. Ep #24: Misfit Heroes- The Story of Gideon
24/04/2018 Duración: 18minHave you ever felt like God could never use you? Ever felt like you're just so far from the mark of what God wants you to be that He would never even consider using you in some grand way? I know I have, and that's part of the reason I struggled to finally make the decision to include the faith element in F Cubed late, last year. But, if we actually look at biblical history, we see that God loves to use the weak and the humble for His master design. He fancies Himself on taking these "misfits" and turning them into heroes. This is no better exemplified than in the story of Gideon, from the book of Judges. After taking the time to learn more about this story, I can't help but feel hopeful, optimistic, and encouraged. I pray that you will, too. Subscribe on YT - New videos every week! https://tinyurl.com/y9mdfnsl Follow on IG https://www.instagram.com/jschultzf3/
