We're back from an overly long break (sorry!) and we've got those good good E3 scoops! Well, maybe not scoops but we did see a bunch of great games at E3 2018, so Sandy and Matty wrap-up each conference, showing and title at the show for a comprehensive retrospective on a weird year for E3.

This week on Checkpoint Chat Sandy breakdowns how incredible The Forest is, and his love hate relationships with Armsy. Matty brings up one of the best Final Fantasy games ever made before they both dive into the massive changes Battlefield V is making. Never play Footsy Footsy with an Armsy...Armsy.

This week is all about E3, with Matty and Sandy diving deep into what each publisher might bring to the table. Will Microsoft finally turn the corner? Can Sony keep up the momentum? Is Nintendo going to have another great year? We also touch on State of Decay 2 and how average it is, as well as Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII and Battlefield V. Checkpoint Chat also wants to reveal our new Battle Royale mode: One hundred afros parachute onto an island. You get the rest.

Matty basically takes over this week, talking about his time with the incredible God of War and equally impressive Bayonetta. Sandy touches on his time with The Forest while waiting for embargoes to fall, and we get really excited about E3 in a couple of weeks! Also it's our birthday. While Matty manages to escape the hell of living with bathroom spiders, he chats about his parting thoughts on The Last Guardian and how it made him cry. Sandy checks in with a look at the depressingly brilliant Frostpunk, we chat about a whole bunch of great games out this week and wonder just how great games this generation have been by being critical of their legacy. This week on a (slighty) delayed episode, Matty is so, so close to finishing The Witcher 3 while Sandy can't get over how good God of War is. We remember The Forest and champion Vermintide 2 as the next big Left4Dead game, while also discussing how bad single-player shooters are in the wake of Call of Duty cancelling the mode for Black Ops 4. Also don't keep Red Bull so close to recording equipment. Or at least don't drink like Sandy, the idiot.

After an unforeseen week off, Sandy and Matty return to share stories of Trico being an asshole, how unbelievably incredible God of War is, excitement and reservations over Nintendo Labo and answers to a whole bunch of your questions!

On another jam-packed episode of Checkpoint Chat, Matty nurses Sandy's hangover with more ramblings about mobile Final Fantasy games, they both chat about how unbelievably addicted they are to Fortnite again, Sandy is disappointed by Far Cry 5 and just how much adventuring can you fit into a single Minit?
