Big Idea: In Christ we are NEVER condemned. 1. In Christ our condemnation was replaced by a new desire to walk in OBEDIENCE to the Spirit of God. 2. In Christ our condemnation was PAID by the perfect blood of Christ Jesus. 3. In Christ our condemnation was removed by the Holy Spirit who INDWELLS and imparts life.

Big Idea: The struggle with sin is real; but in Christ there is no condemnation. 1. For every believer there is an internal battle of wills, and this battle is fierce and ongoing. 2. The internal battle between your old and new nature is evidence of salvation and spiritual life. 3. The internal battle remind you of your desperate need for a Savior who forgives, redeems and transforms.

Big Idea: In Jesus we are no longer bound to an external, handwritten law. 1. In Christ's DEATH we are released from the Law. 2. In Christ's RESURRECTION we are joined to Christ. 3. In Christ we are free from SIN's stranglehold

Big idea: In Jesus we are free to surrender our lives to God as King. 1. Two choices: Serve God or Serve Self 2. Two masters: Holy God or Sin/Satan/Self 3. Two destinies: Eternal Life or Eternal Death

Big idea: In Jesus we are set free from sin's daily power over us. 1. Believers are called to no longer live in sin. 2. Believers are able to walk in newness of life. 3. Believers are no longer slaves to sin. 4. Believers alive in God through Christ. 5. Believers are instrument of righteousness.

Big idea: the free gift of grace secures our justification, life, and righteousness in Christ Jesus.

"Emmanuel" is good news for God's people. "Emmanuel" is terrible news for God's enemies.

Big Idea: The pursuit of peace ends in the arms of Jesus. 1: Peace because our sins are paid in full forever. 2-5: Peace because suffering is no longer pointless. 6-10: Peace because at our worst Jesus pursued us. 10-11: Peace because we have been reconciled to God.

Big Idea: You are justified in Christ alone. 1. God's promises to Abraham and his offspring predate the giving of the law. 2. God's promises to Abraham are broader than Abraham's physical offspring. 3. God's promises of blessing extends to the offspring of Abraham's faith. 4. God delivers and justifies all who believe in Jesus with faith like Abraham.

Zechariah & Elizabeth's answered prayer will bring joy and gladness. - God's grace turns mourning into joy and gladness. (Psalm 30:11) - God's grace is enough. 3. Zechariah & Elizabeth's blessing will be a blessing to others. - John was the Lord's blessing to the Jews. - John is a blessing to us.

Big Idea: Self righteousness is powerless to save. 1. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. 2. Just wait until your dad gets home. 3. You reap what you sow.

Big Idea: The Gospel is enough. FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL... 1. The Gospel is the Power of God. - For it is the POWER of GOD for SALVATION. 2. The Gospel is available to everyone. - To EVERYONE who BELIEVES, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 3. The Gospel is a demonstration of the righteousness of God. - For in it the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD is revealed. 4. The Gospel is a call to daily live by faith. - From FAITH for FAITH, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith".
