A Collaboration with John Tyler Kent
30/01/2019 Duración: 03minCheck this one out guys - cool little song I made with my amazing musician-friend John Tyler Kent. He plays Chapman Stick, Guitar, and Bass exceptionally well. We produced this song together. It's not mastered, and only partially mixed. But it's coo! Still a work in progress, just wanted to share it with you guys because I'm really excited about it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

Rediscovering Communication
29/01/2019 Duración: 07minJust ranting about something here. I think it's becoming my biggest pet peeve: poor communication - mainly when it comes to delivering something you say you're going to deliver. If you say you're going to do something, and then you can no longer do it - that's fine! Just please TELL me. Nah mean? Damn. Frustrating element of the past few days for me. I'm looking for someone else to record horn for me! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

Tool's "Vicarious" Intro & Riffs
28/01/2019 Duración: 03minTool's "Vicarious" starts off with some beautiful bass/guitar interplay in 5/4. I tried to really make this sound close to the original! Hope you dig it, it was a super fun little project guys! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

Updates on the Mastering
24/01/2019 Duración: 05minI've decided to go with Andres Mayo. I sent him track #7 of my new album and he mastered it for me to approve. I friggin love it guys - super crisp and strong, the right amount of presence and very clear. I did some serious comparison with the original mix as well as a Cloudbounce version. The Andres version wins. I will go with that :D --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

"Verdure" - Guitar Loop
23/01/2019 Duración: 02minHere's an improvised guitar loop I made last week with the Spider Capo. Absolutely loving this thing! The piece literally sounds like a bunny is hopping around a tranquil garden. Hope you dig it! Been making tons of riffs and ideas like this - some day one of them will turn into a full, produced song. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

Have A Soundboard & Receive Feedback On Your Music
22/01/2019 Duración: 07minAlthough I'm always pretty secretive about the music I'm working on, there are 2 people who I confide in to give me their honest feedback about my progress: my brother Mario and my partner Erica. They both provide different types of feedback, both so so valuable. I recommend having an "inner circle" of some sort when it comes to the music you are making. People that can tell you how they feel straight out, and if they think you could perform, record, or mix something better. I'm outrageously grateful for them :D --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

Making Content For Your Album Release
17/01/2019 Duración: 08minHere are my thoughts on how I'm going to content-market the release of my upcoming album (thinking early-mid March). Video is key - and quality video at that. The visual needs to be up there with the music this day in age. Make interesting visual content to coincide with your new songs! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

"Smoke On The Water" - Acoustic Fingerstyle Arrangement
16/01/2019 Duración: 02minLast week I had the idea to come up with my own acoustic arrangement to this song - it was such a blast to do! I highly recommend coming up with stuff like this: acoustic arrangements of simple songs you like. It really forces you to think about how you to approach the melody and harmony. It challenges your relationship with the fretboard. Do it!!! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

My Thoughts On Mastering
15/01/2019 Duración: 08minMastering is the final step to the music production process, and it can cost anywhere from $0 to thousands of dollars to master an album. There's a lot to learn in this realm, and I'm still finding my way with it. One day I definitely want to learn how to do it myself, I just know it requires a ton of ridiculously expensive equipment. I think I found someone to master my next album: Andres Mayo. Check him out! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

"Gold Dust Over" - Guitar Piece
14/01/2019 Duración: 05minHappy Monday guys! Today I want to share with you one of my favorite improvised guitar loops I created last year in 2018. It was at Erica's art show where I had the opportunity to provide some light background music for the event. I used it as a chance to write a ton of music, and I wrote 10-12 five minute guitar loops of some pretty awesome ideas! Hope you dig this one, it's called "Gold Dust Over" --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

My Method For Recording Vocals
10/01/2019 Duración: 05minI have 6 out of the 10 songs tracked for the new album (for Vox, that is). In this episode I want to share with you guys how I approach vocals in both the recording and editing phase. It's a bit nutty but it works real well for me! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

The Spider Capo
09/01/2019 Duración: 07minI highly recommend this little gadget if you are into looking at your guitar in new ways, and to force yourself to be creative. Regular chords get thrown away when you put this thing on and really use some interesting capo-formations. I've written some really cool riffs with it - listen up! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

Instagram: Engagement Groups
08/01/2019 Duración: 04minGiving my thoughts on IG Engagement Groups - what they are and in what ways you can benefit from them. At first I was skeptical, but I've come to realize that they are very effective! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support

"Twirling In The Shine" - Track #5 Off Album 2
07/01/2019 Duración: 03minHappy Monday guys! Today I'm sharing with you the 5th Track to my 2nd album. It's called "Twirling In The Shine", with words by my great friend Alex Andreosatos. He had a series of poems that he shared with me, and this one particularly caught my eye. It takes place in a beautiful, heavenly garden. Lying on the ground looking up at the sky. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/danbarracuda/support
