Have a long-term mindset for applications process. This is just like we talked about in "Building a Strong Network". You do not want to be that person, who might not be there for the long haul; demonstrate you care!

Networking often takes two approaches from what I have experienced. The first approach is speed networking where you hand out as many business cards as possible, and just try to see what sticks. The other is in the interest of building a network of people similar to your family and friends.
