  Ward Hamilton doesn't consider himself a hero, most heroes just happen to be in the right place at the right time, however, it's at this juncture that a decision is quickly made, how to react to the situation at hand. When he heard that Massachusetts Trooper John Vasquez was wounded by a gunman, Hamilton made the decision to run towards the situation instead of away from it,  offering assistance that saved the trooper's life.
