    27/04/2021 Duración: 30min

As someone who's moved around the country multiple times with 3  kids, Lisa Jacobs knows the power of an organized home. An organized  space can save you time, money, and even instill calm in a chaotic  house. At the age of 48, Lisa found  herself at a crossroad in life. Her kids were older, and she was ready  to go back into the workforce. When considering her options she thought  about what she was most passionate about --- organizing and  decluttering. Starting her business Jacobs admits she made a million  mistakes along the way, but that's the life of an entrepreneur. Lisa  talks about some of her best organizing tips, and reminds us that yes,  we really should throw out clothes that don't fit us anymore! Thanks for listening! • Make Your Life Delicious: Author, Chef and TV Personality Daphne Oz

    20/04/2021 Duración: 39min

Daphne Oz spent her formative years cooking by her grandmother’s side, soaking up recipes, techniques and family gatherings around the kitchen. It made sense, then, that her first book, written while she was still in college, was about healthy eating. While that paved the way for her to join the culinary-centered talk show, The Chew, Daphne still didn’t have any formal training, a fact she remedied by attending culinary school despite an already-successful stint on a cooking show. Daphne continues to stir her entrepreneurial spirit as co-host of the Mom Brain Podcast. As a business owner and mother of four, it may seem as though she is doing the impossible. The key, she says, is learning to ask for help where you need it and to show up as your most authentic self, no matter what others have to say about it! Thanks for listening! • Be Someone Who Can Light Your Own Fire: Jen Cohen Bogan of Bluejay Bikes

    13/04/2021 Duración: 22min

While she might not define herself as a fitness enthusiast, Jen Cohen Bogan has an eye for the up and coming, and she knew the first time she rode an e-bike that there was something special there. The missing piece was, in her mind, a product that could marry function, value, quality and style. Not many people would want to ride a bike that wasn’t cute! Ever the outsider in her career pursuits, Jen parlayed her lack of experience into a fresh perspective, doing her own extensive research and funding in order to learn as much as possible while still maintaining control of what was to become her new company. She’s now the proud owner of Bluejay Bikes, one of the most popular brands available, pursuing what lights her fire and practicing what makes her happy on a daily basis. Thanks for listening! • Rich in Mind, Rich in Heart: Chriselle Lim, Digital Influencer and Co-Founder of bümo

    06/04/2021 Duración: 32min

Chriselle Lim was an influencer before influencing was a career to aspire to. Having fun with her own YouTube channel in college, she was one of the pioneers who recognized that content could mean more than ironic memes and charming cat videos. Early on, she was invited to Rebecca’s fashion shows before fashion had tapped into the influencer market. Their friendship has been going strong ever since. Never content focusing in just one area, Chriselle has gone through a digital metamorphosis through her use of various social media platforms over the years. She has also expanded her entrepreneurial side in the co-founding of bümo, a multidimensional service aimed at providing quality educational classes to children while simultaneously equipping parents with both remote support and a place to work and receive childcare in their new co-working space debuting this spring in Los Angeles. It sounds like a lot, and it is, but Chriselle has learned that the key to success is knowing what you’re good at, diving deep, a

  • Unconventional Wisdom: Minjae Ormes of Visible

    30/03/2021 Duración: 36min

When Minjae Ormes was passionately studying storytelling and film, she didn’t know she would eventually use those skills for another type of storytelling: business marketing in a digital world. The creativity and unorthodox approach she built because of this led her to the position of Global Head of Media at YouTube. Now as CMO at Visible, an innovative, all digital telecommunications brand. Forbes has even crowned her “World’s Most Influential CMO.” While it may sound like a dream resume, Minjae admits that it took a long time to figure out what she wanted to do with her life, especially as she realized she leaned towards the unconventional. 16/03/2021 Duración: 27min

This episode is in partnership with SAP SuccessFactors. Barbara Mason, CHRO of Scotiabank, may be one of the most successful women in banking, but it was never her plan to go into finance. As a college graduate with a degree in urban geography, she started working with the bank in order to scout new locations for branches. • From Set Back to Set Up!: Jamie Kern Lima of IT Cosmetics

    11/03/2021 Duración: 34min

Even as a child, Jamie Kern Lima loved listening to people share their stories. As a kid she would watch Oprah in the family living room, soaking up both the sincerity and contagious enthusiasm that was the hallmark of such an iconic show. It came as a surprise, then, when Jamie’s dream job as a news anchor didn’t turn out to be as fulfilling as she’d hoped. A sudden, tenacious battle with rosacea led Jamie to explore a countless number of makeup and skincare options, all to no avail. Inspiration struck when she decided to create her own line of cosmetics despite her lack of experience in the field. Following her intuition to leave the newsroom behind, Jamie experienced years of rejection as one investor after another turned her down. Sticking to her guns proved her point, however, as IT Cosmetics slowly grew, only to be acquired by L’Oreal in 2016 in their largest company purchase to date. Jamie is now the first female CEO in L’Oreal’s 100 years as a brand, and she’s passing her invaluable advice along in he

  • Stories with Heart: Jessi Hempel of LinkedIn and Hello Monday with Jessi Hempel

    02/03/2021 Duración: 27min

Jessi Hempel always knew she wanted to be a writer. From the time she won her grade school writing contest, she knew she was destined to share her gift of the written word. It was a surprise, then, when her success as a tech writer for such magazines as Fortune and Wired ceased to feel as fulfilling as it once had. Many people reach this point in their careers; the excitement ebbs, the shine wears off. Few people take the leap and try something new. Jessi, however, did just that. Spurred by personal hardship, she seized the opportunity to dive into the unknown, striking forth in a new direction with the knowledge that she could never again pursue work that didn’t resonate with the deepest levels of her heart. Ever the storyteller, she is now the host of Webby nominated podcast Hello Monday with Jessi Hempel, in addition to working as senior news editor at large at LinkedIn. Thanks for listening! • Be Your Biggest Advocate: Camilla Marcus of west~bourne

    23/02/2021 Duración: 38min

Watching any number of popular cooking shows on TV, it’s fairly common to see chefs in a rage, spewing one sort of emotional outburst or another. That sort of stress might be enough to send most folks running, but not Camilla Marcus. Recalling her own encounters with angry kitchen staff as she worked her way up in the restaurant industry, she could do nothing but laugh if a chef berated her for something as innocuous as a carrot. This sort of fresh perspective was what helped her to develop west~bourne, a restaurant and market place where staff members rotate through all roles in order to learn and get a holistic perspective of how the business is run. Though the restaurant is temporarily shuttered during the pandemic, the wellbeing of her coworkers is ever at the forefront of Camilla’s mind. In that spirit she has partnered with Robin Hood to found ROAR, providing financial aid for NYC restaurant workers to provide some much needed relief in these tough times. Thanks for listening! 02/02/2021 Duración: 31min

Oceans apart, in two of the most well-respected wine growing regions of the world, two sisters grew up thinking they were only children. When a combination of persistent searching and a dose of magic reunited the two, they were fascinated to learn that not only did they resemble each other in appearance, but also that their upbringing and their interests were remarkably similar. At the time they didn’t know it, but together Robin and Andréa McBride would create the largest Black-owned, sustainably driven wine company in the U.S., McBride Sisters Wine Collection. Forging ahead in a stuffy industry dominated by older white men, Andréa and Robin have discovered that theirs is not only an epicurean journey, but ultimately one of social change as they work to redefine the field, welcoming women and people of color to the inner workings of the world of wine.
