We wrap up chapter 1 today of Revelation. We will start the 7 churches in our next Gospelstudy pogram.

Taken from a variety of Scriptures, starting in Ephesians 2:8-10.  "For by grace are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God."

We are traveling through the entire book of Revelation, verse by verse.

A look at the beatitudes of Revelation. Also, verses 4 & 5 of chapter 1. Revelation 1:4-5 4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the seven-fold Spirit who is before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and who washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Revelation 1:1-3 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show His servants the things which must come to pass quickly. And He made it known by sending it through His angel to His servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, as many things as He saw, both the things that are and those that must happen after these. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who keep the things having been written in it; for the time is near."

Slaves, obey your masters--not with "eyeservice"

We continue our look at husband/wife attitudes and relationships, as well as children/fathers. Ephesians 5:31 - 6:4 31 "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak in reference to Christ and to the church. 33 Nevertheless you also individually, let each one love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respect her husband. Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: 3 "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." 4 And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

Today we look at the conduct of the husband and wife. Also, we are looking at how to start this new year right with God, and not have our prayers hindered. (1 Pet 3:7) Ephesians 5:22-28 22 Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord, 23 because the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 But just as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your own wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 in order that He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and blameless. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he that loves his own wife loves himself.

More studies on understanding what the will of the Lord is, and what it isn't. Ephesians 5:17-21 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always concerning all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.

Today we continue our verse by verse study in Ephesians. Sometimes knowing what the "will of the Lord is" is difficult--not in this verse however, or others that we will study today. 15 "See then that you walk carefully, not as unwise, but as wise,  16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."
