  • Asking God “Why?” (Psalm 22)

    07/04/2025 Duración: 47min

Join Pastor Stuart for the sixth lesson in our series, Head Full of Doubt, where we seek to answer the question, "What do we do with doubt?" Today, we turn to Psalm 22 to find the psalmist . . . "Asking God 'Why?'". In this lesson, we learn: Asking God “Why?” is not necessarily doubt or sin. The “why” of suspicion questions God’s character or wisdom.  The “why” of curiosity desires to learn. The “why” of bewildered belief trusts God but admits confusion and ignorance. The “why” of anguish expresses our pain and agony to God. The type of “why” we ask demonstrates what’s going on in our heart. No matter what type of “why” is in our heart, it is good for us to bring our questions to God. Working through our questions with God helps lead us from why to worship. We can do all this boldly because of Jesus. So, whatever “whys” we’re wrestling with, let’s take them to our heavenly Father through Jesus.   You can learn more about Westminster Presbyterian Church at https://www.westminsterpca.net. • The Seeking and Celebrating God (Luke 15:1-10)

    17/02/2025 Duración: 39min

Join Pastor Stuart as we continue in our series, Someone Like You, where we seek to answer the question, "Who does Jesus care about?" In this lesson, we turn to the Gospel According to Luke 15:1-10 to hear the Good News of . . . "The Seeking and Celebrating God". God is the diligent seeker of people who are “lost.” God celebrates when a sinner repents. These two truths sum up the ministry of Jesus. They should also sum up the ministry of his church. • All Over the World (1 John 2:1-2)

    11/02/2025 Duración: 35min

Join Pastor Stuart as we continue in our series, Someone Like You, where we seek to answer the question, "Who does Jesus care about?" In our 4th lesson, we turn to the Apostle John's First Letter 2:1-2 to hear the Good News for people . . . "All Over the World". In this lesson, we learn: The good news about Jesus is for people all over the world. Jesus is a righteous advocate for any sinner who trusts in him. He also satisfies God’s just judgment against our sin. Two “take aways” from these truths for those who follow Jesus: We resist the pull of tribalistic and xenophobic tendencies. We indiscriminately spread the good news far and wide. So, let’s find great comfort and joy in Jesus and share his good news with others.
