Osborne's view seems to be that knowledge is socially constructed, not based on evidence and measurements, with scientific discovery being reduced to the counting of hands.

The other day, H. Sterling Burnett, Ph.D., the director of The Heartland Institute's Arthur B. Robinson Center on Climate and Environmental Policy, was a guest on the Cardle & Woolley program on Talk Radio 1370 AM in Austin, Texas. Sterling was asked to be on to talk about how President Biden "kind of" declared a climate emergency, or at least said as much in a recent interview with The Weather Channel. Fires in Maui were blamed on “climate change” by the media, only for them to find out that this wasn’t the case at all!President Joe Biden, after having a disastrous week of optics sitting on the beach while Maui burned, decided to fly there Monday. With the perfect setting for “disaster porn” from the burned city of Lahaina, he may finally declare an “official” global climate emergency next week.The Biden White House loves their optics!Also, a bunch of kids in Montana (well, actually their handlers) filed a climate lawsuit against the state citing the Montana constitution provision for a clean environment. They just won, arguing with exaggerations and cherry-picked data. Special guest, Climatologist Dr. Judith Curry will discuss her role in defending that lawsuit and her observations.

In her book, Climate Uncertainty and Risk, Dr. Judith Curry describes how the climate science community has been captured by certain points of view concerning society and the desire for consensus, undermining its pursuit of objective facts. Climate change claims are fraught with uncertainty, only to be shrouded in secrecy for those who seek real-world data. The result is a society that bases it’s policy decisions of improper, and often incorrect, scientific assertions, rather than advancing human wellbeing.

Is a day this July the hottest day in 120,000 years? Of course not. Heartland Institute Senior Fellow Anthony Watts was a guest this week on KTRH Radio, Houston's Morning News with Sharon and Jim to debunk that ridiculous claim. Anthony also talks about how and why alarmists have changed the term "global warming" to "climate change," which means you can blame every bit of extreme weather on human activity. That's also a claim not backed up by science. 

In its new critical review, the Climate Intelligence Foundation (CLINTEL) found many problems with the IPCC's AR6 report on climate change.  The IPCC made numerous false assumptions and flawed assessments, all the while ignoring key facts. The IPCC erred in its comparisons of present data with proxy data for past climate conditions, made flawed assumptions about climate sensitivity and emissions, and unjustifiably assumed nature plays almost no role in climate change. In addition, the IPCC ignored or downplayed the tremendous benefits to human life of present climate change. 

This week we learned from Heartland's Justin Haskins that the U.N. is planning to seize global ‘emergency’ powers with Biden’s support.In the article, Haskins makes it clear that a so-called "climate emergency" or "climate crisis" will be one of the possible triggers for this, and with the upcoming El Niño likely to spike global temperatures, irrational panic will likely enable a power grab by the UN.Just this week, when there was supposedly the "hottest day ever" on the planet (it wasn't, even NOAA couldn't confirm it), U.N. The Supreme Court ruling in the United States' case of Sackett v. EPA has emerged as a pivotal decision, significantly impacting individual liberty, the constitutional balance of power, and the containment of the regulatory state for the first time in decades. The verdict mandates that wetlands must be categorically "wet" and directly connected to navigable waters. As a result, landowners, developers, farmers, and other property holders now have clearer guidelines about whether they need to seek approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency before using their properties for routine purposes.

Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) has become one of the gravest threats facing the free societies of the world. A cabal of ideologically aligned progressive elites are pushing to have progressive environmental and social justice goals replace the pursuit of profits and wealth creation through ESG under the guise of stakeholder capitalism.  ESG is a social credit scoring system that ideologically aligned elites and subservient bureaucratic authorities have developed to “reset” the global financial system to their advantage, fundamentally transforming society in the process.
