In his book Clean Energy Crisis, Donn Dears explains why it is impossible for society to reach net zero carbon emissions. Dears explains why it would be a bad idea to attempt to go net zero if this was a realistic possibility. Fossil fuels are energy dense, having relatively little impact on the land and environment. Wind and solar require far more land, leaving a massive environmental "footprint." Not only are the so-called green energy replacements for fossil fuels not green, but they are expensive and unreliable. As wind and solar power is added to the grid, lives are placed at risks from outages while jobs are lost due to unreliable energy supplies.

Noted climate change doomsayer Paul Ehrlich appeared on 60 Minutes this week to add to his growing tally of false predictions. Aged 90, Ehrlich has built a career around being wrong about environmentalist catastrophes, from mass famine in the 1970s to cannibalism today. Heartland's H. Sterling Burnett appeared on The John Steigerwald show to talk about Ehrlich's dangerous dystopia. 

In his book Time to Think Small, author Todd Myers explains why big government efforts usually fail to fix the problem at hand. Rather, these attempts often create greater problems than the original problem they intended to solve. By contrast, new technologies, individuals and groups can provide flexible solutions to environmental problems that improve both the environment and society.  Technologies, like cell phones and the apps they can run are allowing individuals and small groups to develop new insights into the causes and consequences of environmental problems and solutions to them at the local level. By contrast, one-size-fits all big government "solutions," often misidentify the problem and/or its causes, take time to develop, are inflexible, and often make a bad situation worse. 

Climate science is tragically politicized. For one, the tremendous benefits rising carbon dioxide concentrations (CO2) have on the earth is completely ignored. As CO2 levels increase, crop production follows suit in rich and poor nations alike. Alarmists have chosen to ignore this fact. They’d rather promote climate disaster stories built on computer models, not real-world data. Time and time again, the computer models have proven inadequate. Data on climate change indicates the world is becoming better for human civilization. The fact alarmists want to hide is this. CO2 is not a pollutant.  Will Happer, physicist at the CO2 coalition, joins host H. Sterling Burnett to discuss the misinformation permeating throughout our society regarding the benefits of rising CO2. Unlike climate alarmists who push hypothetical disaster scenarios built on faulty computer models, Happer references real-world data to highlight the benefits of rising CO2 concentrations.

Dave White's new environmental science textbook, Climate Crisis Changed: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Are Deliberate Science Fiction, examines the basic science of what drives climate change. White dives into the evidence used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to claim that we face a climate crisis. The evidence doesn’t support the position. Claims of climate catastrophe are based on a faulty understanding of the impact different greenhouses gases have on temperatures and related climate phenomena. White controversially writes that the present warming is impacted by shifts in the earth's tilt.

Polls show that Americans care most about crime and the economy. And while the election results are suspiciously confusing, it’s clear that climate change is going nowhere in Congress. Biden will have to continue advancing his agenda through executive action. At COP27 more promises of climate payments are expected, but as in the past, they are likely to amount to promises unfulfilled.Previous agreements to send climate payments to developing countries often never come to fruition. Why would any agreement signed this year differ? In the meantime, coal use increases, and CO2 emissions keep rising, but weather events stubbornly refuse to get more extreme.

There's been a sharp uptick in protests in the name of a climate change induced catastrophe across the globe. Fridays for Future, the group inspired by Greta Thunberg, recently held protests in 450 locations. Stories are flooding the news of protestors gluing themselves to private property and then expecting the businesses to cooperate with their demands. Why the sharp uptick in protests? Environmental alarmists are trotting out the tired trope that growing human populations threaten the end of the world. In this case, they’re not claiming overpopulation threatens humanity due to using up finite resources, but rather because human greenhouse gas emissions are causing catastrophic climate change. POLITICO just released their inaugural Green 28 list. This list is constructed to rank the 28 individuals with the most influence on the European Union's sustainability, environmental, mobility, climate and energy policies. Vladimir Putin was awarded the top spot on the list. Russia holds a stronghold on energy exports within Europe. Without looking at why this is the case, POLITICO gleefully agues that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will force a green revolution.

Science requires strict adherence to the scientific method when conducting research. This process is critical to discovering new knowledge, thus advancing human progress. Dangerously, the domination of scientific research funded by governments, both seen and unseen, is undermining sound science. California's energy policies are leading us down the road to economic disaster. But it’ll be more than just Californians who pay. Unfortunately, California’s policies may drag other countries, and the auto industry as a whole, down with it. In the end, modern society cannot sustain itself without the thousands of products made using fossil fuels. And even if it could, slave labor is used to manufacture the green sources of electricity used globally. And no one mentions how destructive the environmental impact renewables have.

H. Sterling Burnett joins the John Steigerwald Show to discuss the corporate media’s use of Hurricane Ian to push their alarmist narrative. Rather than show sympathy for those affected by this extreme weather event, media pundits such as Don Lemon on CNN are using the moment to try and scare Americans into relinquishing their liberty in order to fight the false threat of human induced climate change. Burnett sets the record straight.

The Inflation Reduction Act provides billions of dollars in tax credits for renewable energy projects, but wage and materials provision are likely to ensure few new projects get built. However, ongoing efforts to build new offshore industrial wind facilities, another Biden initiative, may cause the extinction of the North Atlantic Right Whale. Lawsuits are likely to challenge offshore wind projects to protect the whales which are already protected by several federal laws. Environmentalists will have to choose sides, protect the environment, or promote industrialization. Regardless, even if all these projects come to pass, they will have no effect on climate change.

In California, Europe, and beyond the impacts of crazy energy policies they have governments there have imposed are coming home to roost, and its bad for their residents. Yet in an effort to push a Great Reset of the global economy, many governments are doubling down on policies that have created the present energy crisis.It seems rationing and COVID like energy lockdowns are the goal so elites can impose their vision of a planned economy on the worlds people. Because planned economies do poorly, this means everyone, but the elites wielding power must do with less, less resources and less freedom.

California is leading the charge on misguided energy policies that are both ineffective at protecting the environment and markedly anti-consumer. Other states such as Florida and Texas are doing the opposite, fighting back against energy policies and corporate efforts, such as ESG programs, that hurt residents. Floridians and Texans will benefit while California’s residents watch their energy and transportation systems become less secure. People’s lives are being put at risk.Both corporations and the government must not be allowed to force investment decisions on people. Blocking these anti-consumer efforts will expand freedom and economic well-being. Mandating only wind and solar removes individual choice and endangers lives.

Global elites at the World Economic Forum are using climate change and ESG efforts to push a great reset of capitalism. This authoritarian push will trample property rights and personal liberties in order to satisfy corporate and government elites concerned with how the world should look. Profit must be replaced by amorphous social and environmental credit scores with everyone assigned a biometric id: a dystopian nightmare straight out of "A Brave New World."

The climate was not stagnant before human carbon dioxide emissions. Rather, Earth’s climate is consistently changing across a variety of timescales. It has been warmer and cooler than it is today. There is no evidence we are in the midst of a climate crisis driven by carbon dioxide emissions. Earth’s present warming is similar to the warming experienced during every previous interglacial cycle throughout its history. Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. It’s necessary to life.
