Christians are familiar with the Nativity scene. They are reproduced in hundreds of different ways. Whether it's Precious Moments, Willow Tree, or an inflatable yard art version, Nativity scenes all have the same players. There's Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus in the manger, along with shepherds and wise men. In the book Revelation, we are given a very different Nativity scene which includes a seven headed red dragon set to destroy the birth of Christ. In this message, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at how the birth of Christ points to the ultimate defeat of the kingdom of Satan.

What does Revelation 3 have to do with Christmas? In His letter to the church in Laodicea, Jesus says he is standing on the outside, knocking and waiting to to be let in. Sound familiar? Sounds a lot like the time when Mary and Joseph were on the outside looking in for a place for Jesus to be born. In the fourth and final part of Isaiah's prayer or revival, we come to a desperate and broken plea for a merciful return of God's presence.

In part 3 of Isaiah's prayer for revival, we see that after the prophet made a desperate INVITATION for God to come down to His people once again, and seeing the faithful EXPECTATION that God does not forget or abandon His people, we see Isaiah shift to a mode of PREPARATION for God to move.

What do you expect from God? We know He's great. We know He's big. We believe He's all powerful. Then, why do we doubt Him so much? In Isaiah's prayer for revival in Isaiah 64, we see that God responds when people faithfully expect God to do so.

Revival... It's a word which conjures up mental pictures and memories for most. But, what is revival? What does it really look like? How do we make it happen? In the book of Isaiah, the prophet invites God to come down and invade his people with HIs presence. Revival begins when we invite God in.

What is life really all about? This is one of the greatest questions humanity faces. No one wants to live and die without purpose or meaning or significance. But, what is the greatest pursuit of life? Is it Money, fame, power, sex? In this message, we look at the words of the prophet Jeremiah to see what Pursuing God will do to a life.

In this closing message of the Romans series, Pastor Derek Holmes points out the glorious nature of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Every great movie has a great team to make it happen. Most of the hard work comes from people who never make it on the screen except for the end credits. In the closing chapter of Romans, Paul gives almost a closing credits of people in the church at Rome who were a great supporting cast of the Gospel.

The Gospel is a catalyst that changes our eternal destination, but also the trajectory of our lives. In this passage, Paul gets real personal about the Gospel and how it has given him purpose, direction and vision. From this passage, we see 5 questions to determine whether or not we are living on mission.

"One Size Fits All." Is there any greater lie in the English language? We live in a world of diverse shapes and sizes and types. There is no way to create something that fits everyone the same! Except for the Gospel. The Gospel is a one size fits all Gospel. In this message, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at how Paul informs the Roman church that Jesus is the Savior of the world, not just the Jews or the Gentiles. He is creating a new nation that is founded in Him alone.

When everyone thinks the same. But, an absence of disagreement, does not describe Unity. In this message, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at Romans 14 to see how unity was being disrupted in the church because everyone was looking for uniformity of thought rather than unity in Christ.

In the last part of Romans 8, Paul continues on with teaching about the newness of living in and for Jesus. Believers are encouraged to embrace a new routine or way of living in light of the Gospel.

Should the Gospel have an impact of every day life? Paul said it should in teh book of Romans. The Gospel doesn't just impact our eternity or the spiritual arena. The Gospel invades every aspect of life. In this message, we look at how the Gospel frees us from the debt of sin and death and places us under a new debt of love. We owe love to our Savior, and to those our Savior loves, which is everyone.

What does the Gospel have to do with politics and government? It has a lot to do with it, actually. In the age of divisive politics and Christian Nationalism, where does a truly biblical believer land when it comes to his or her relationship to civil authority? In this message, we look at how Paul says the gospel should produce upstanding citizens.
