The World's perspective is that the Church doesn't have a significant role to play in the lives of many if not most people. But what does God think about that? Pastor Mike continues in the discussion of being the "body of Christ" as he discusses the process of church membership. Everything in life is a process and becoming involved in a local church is included in this. The church is God's idea and he would have his children dwelling in unity together as the church. Therefore, what is the process entail?

Today's time is spent with two special speakers presenting their passion for two different mission ministries. Aubrey Way is going to share her most recent experiences with "Youth With a Mission" or YWAM. She has spent the last 2 years training and traveling to Nepal and most recently leading a team to China. She explains YWAM and shares her heart for where God is leading her in 2014. After Aubrey, Jim and Nancy Finn share about the ministry Good News India that God has directed them to for the past few years. Jim will give us an overview of this growing ministry to the children of India and share a challenge for our church as well. God bless them both.

Pastor Mike speaks on the significance of Love as the main ingredient of the Christmas story. In this message he uses a video message from Pete Briscoe, Senior Pastor of Bent Tree Church in Dallas, Tx that is titled "A Savior is Born" and Pastor Pete teaches us about the significance of the lowly shepherd and why God used them to announce the birth of Jesus to the world. This is a perfect example of God's grace and how He uses the lowliest of people to achieve the greatest of purposes in life, then and now. God's love is enough to fulfill us if we would allow it...

Pastor Mike discusses the Christmas season with a look towards Mary as a model for Hope. In addition, a video message from Pete Briscoe, Senior Pastor from Bent Tree Church in Dallas, Tx brings encouragement and challenge for us. Pastor Pete describes how Mary's life of accepting the call to bear the "Son of God" is a good model for us on how we accept the various calls from God in our lives today. Even in the midst of "doing" the will of God, life can be hard and we can be challenged with a lack of significance and purpose. But God has a higher plan for your life. Will you accept it and thus have His Hope in the midst of it all?

Pastor Mike finishes up a two week study on what it means to have a Personal Relationship with Jesus, especially in the hectic season of Christmas. Week one, "What is a Personal Relationship with Jesus"? and today "How is it Developed"?. Most everything in life begins small and grows, relationships are no different. As we begin a new life with Jesus, there are many forces against this new relationship including the Devil and everything he can throw against it. So there must be a diligent effort to protect, build and nurture this budding relationship. How is this done?

This week Pastor Mike begins a short series on what it really means to have a "Personal Relationship" with Jesus. There are many "Christian-eze" words we use that may make sense to some but to the world they're meaningless. So when we speak of having a personal relationship with God, what is that? Especially as we near one of the busiest holidays of the year, we get so busy celebrating we forget what we're celebrating. What a great time to come back to basics and understand why Jesus came in the first place - to have a Personal Relationship with you. Do you know what that means and do you have one?

Pastor Mike teaches today on Water Baptism and what it means as an act of obedience following in the steps of Jesus. We discuss why it's important to be baptized in water, why it's important to be immersed as in being buried and then rising again to a new spiritual life. Being water baptized has a past, present and future tense meaning - I have chosen, I can identify, and I will be faithful... At the end of the service you can witness the testimony of a number that made a public declaration of water baptism and hear their public declaration of Jesus.

Pastor Mike finally wraps up the messages on Life's Choices by discussing the most powerful force of the universe - being the power to choose. Even though this may seem in conflict with God being the most powerful force, He's the one that gave man the power to choose Him or reject Him. This is God's plan for how man can prove love for God is to ultimately have the Power not to choose God. This doesn't change God but has eternal consequences for man. Listen in for more details...

Pastor Mike continues the discussion on Life's Choices with what Jesus named as the "Greatest Choice" being LOVE. But what is love? What does it look like? How do we do love? What we discovered is love is more of a choice then an emotion. Certainly emotions are a part of love but true love blossoms when choice involved. Our emotions morph into a choice to commit to remain in love regardless of what our emotions tell us over time... It's a complicated matter, but worth the risk... Listen in.

Pastor Mike continues with the challenges that come with our many choices in life when it comes to the questions that define us. These questions are many times morally neutral, yet extremely important as wise or foolish choices. These can be answered as good, better and best; the challenge given this morning is what do you want your life to be, good, better or best? You achieve best only by making the best choices. So where are you in that process? What happens when I don't or haven't? What does God do with me then? Listen and you will find that God has a plan and He is faithful to those that maybe haven't been so faithful to Him, if we come to Him with a truly repentant heart... It's all about God's completed grace in our lives as we live out the answers to the questions that define us.

Pastor Mike continues with the theme of life's many small choices and how they all equate to our character of who we are. This week, the focus is on beginning life with a long term goal in mind and the commitment to sacrifice the immediate pleasures of a short-term indulgence that would forfeit the long-term promise. The life of Esau is a good example of a man that was willing to sell his "birthright" for a bowl of stew... How we may fall into the same trap of short-term gratification at the expense of long-term promise... How do we prevent it? Examine our daily choices according to God's Word...

Pastor Mike continues down the discussion thread of - Life's Many Choices. Every choice and every word are significant even in the most minor detail, and that's gives us all a special purpose. The service opens with a special guest reciting a poem, titled "The Weary Hunter" written by Clarence Way, Pastor Mike's grandfather and recited by Gerry, his only daughter. Often we think the insignificant choices don't matter, yet when we realize that our big life choices are often a compilation of a host of minor choices we may begin to look differently at our daily choices.
