Does God even like me? How? If He likes me, what does He like about me? And what should I do with this information? Bible: Zephaniah 3:17; Psalm 18:19; John 15:16; 1 Peter 2:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Romans 2:4 What's the point of this message? (1) God delights in us by choice. And His delight in us is unchanging. (2) God's delight in us does not mean "approval" of harmful thinking or actions. (3) God's delight in us causes us to move toward Him, breaking off shame.

From the beginning, God wanted to go on a walk with mankind. Unfortunately, we chose our own way and the devastating result was shame. Since the original sin in the garden, shame has been keeping us from our walk. In this message, Pastor Jared invites everyone to break partnership with shame and to go on a walk with God. As believers, it is possible to cultivate presumption or misplaced confidence where we are tempted to think we have wisdom or insight apart from inquiring of the Lord. Fear is imagining our past, present or future without Him. Fear is believing the lie that there is a place we can go where He won't go with us. It is the belief that there is a mess or a pain so bad that He will abandon us to ourselves. The good news is that God is love and "perfect love DRIVES out all fear!" Bible: 1 John 4:1-21; 2 Timothy 1:6-7

Our response to God in any encounter is as important the encounter. Bible: Luke 24

There is no season in life in which God has not fully equipped us. We are not inadequately prepared for any promotion, storm, assignment, dark night or increased favor because He has promised to walk with us. We are not alone! Bible: James 1:1-8; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; 1 Samuel 10

God is the best gift-giver and He loves for us to ask Him because we know Him. Every one of us must learn how to touch the heart of God by asking, seeking and knocking. Bible: Jeremiah 33:2-3; Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 13:3-9

Building culture happens naturally, whether we mean for it to or not. But building the culture we desire requires intent and lots of attention. This means that we reward and celebrate what we want in the culture, but this alone is not enough. In order to have the culture we want, we must also confront what we don't want in the culture. What made David a man after God's own heart? He was a complex man, who had many successes and failures. So, if he failed, how was he a man after God? He knew how to repent. Very little of our modern Christianity requires surrender. "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name and cast out demons in Your Name and done many wonders in Your Name?' And I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'" This scripture should serve as a warning and cause us to regularly assess our surrender to Him as Lord. "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." James 4:6 Bible: Matthew 11:28-30

Believers are salt, which preserves life, and light, which shines the way to life. But when we are distracted by politics, we lose our saltiness and place a veil over our light. Bible: Matthew 5:13-16; 2 Corinthians 3 & 4

God never wanted mankind to be alone or separate from Him; therefore, He invited us into an intimate partnership from the beginning. Yet, man chose to drift and our "solution" to the drift was religion, law, and attempting to conform by self-help and personal discipline. But our "solution" does not bring us close to Him because it doesn't require our hearts to be engaged with His. Bible: Genesis 2:18; John 14:16; Isaiah 29:13-14; Mark 7:1-8

We need everyone in this house to be alive, on fire and in their place. We are alive because He is in us. We are on fire because He is upon us. But being alive and on fire is most beneficial when we know who we are and are in our place. If we are dislocated, we can be alive, but are of no lasting benefit to others and can create a drag on the current of the culture. Bible: Romans 12

The key to breakthrough is to respond when God initiates. We must improve our awareness of His activity and must train ourselves to respond with wonder and awe.

Hearing God's voice is free, but doing what He says costs us. And the only truth that matters is the truth we put into practice. Bible: John 16:7-15; John 8:26-43; James 1:22-25
