Netflix CAN do something right now and again.  The Pale Blue Eye is one of those things.  A very literate and smart script headed up with Christian Bale and Harry Melling delivers what is a very exciting pre Civil War detective story with Edgar Allen Poe when he was a cadet at West Point. Noah Baumbach is known to make some pretty off the wall stuff.  White Noise has to take the cake, as that is concerned.  Adapted from a novel about a family attempting to deal with everyday things whilst also dealing with the emotions and uncertainty.  Interesting, Yes?   Adam Driver is great, as always and the supporting cast also is terrific.  Some ingredients in this cauldron just don't blend well with others, unfortunately.         WHITE NOISE, Dir.
